The Pound is Rising!
Alright meatbags listen up! Your favorite one eyed captain here reporting live from the year 3024. Turns out while you guys are busy arguing over which flavor of Bachelor Chow is best the British pound is about to make a comeback a bigger comeback than Fry after his little cryogenic nap. According to some pointy headed analysts at Bank of America – yes the name still exists! – the pound is on track to hit $1.50 by 2026. That's like a whole lotta Slurm!
Brexit: Not as Bad as Zoidberg's Cooking?
Remember that whole Brexit thing? Yeah well apparently it wasn't as disastrous as a Zoidberg cooked dinner. The pound took a nosedive faster than the Planet Express ship on a bad delivery run but it's slowly clawing its way back. It's already up 7% this year which is almost as impressive as Bender's ability to avoid work.
Trump's Tariffs to the Rescue?
Turns out President Trump's trade policies might actually be helping the pound. Who knew? It's like finding out Nibbler is actually a highly intelligent alien with a sweet tooth. According to Athanasios Vamvakidis some fancy pants at Bank of America these policies are giving the EU and the UK incentive to play nice together which is good for the pound.
The UK Economy: Surprisingly Not Doomed!
Believe it or not the UK economy is actually doing better than the EU. They're expecting to grow faster which is surprising considering all those tea breaks they take. Apparently being a services oriented economy helps shield them from those nasty tariffs. Good news everyone!
Rate Cuts and Higher Growth: A Match Made in Heaven?
The Bank of England is planning on cutting interest rates which combined with higher economic growth forecasts is like pouring Slurm on a party – everyone gets excited! Bank of America expects the UK economy to expand more than the EU proving that sometimes even the underdog can win. Just like me when I finally beat Zapp Brannigan at arm wrestling... okay that never happened but a girl can dream!
The Euro's Going Down!
And the Euro? Well it's expected to fall against the pound. So if you're planning a trip to Europe maybe wait a bit. Unless of course you're going to pick up some Bender shaped souvenirs – those are always worth it! So there you have it folks. The pound is on the rise Brexit might not be the end of the world and Zoidberg still can't cook. Stay tuned for more financial updates from your favorite one eyed news reporter!
