Good News Everyone? Not for ASML!
Alright alright settle down people! Leela here reporting live from... well wherever it is they let me file these reports from. Turns out even in the 31st century we're still dealing with financial gobbledygook. ASML that Dutch company that makes the little gizmos that make the chips that run everything from Bender's shiny metal posterior to Professor Farnsworth's Smell O Scope is having a bit of a kerfuffle. They missed their order expectations which means less money for everyone! And if ASML suffers Fry won't be able to buy his 100th cup of coffee.
Bookings are Down! Someone Call Dr. Zoidberg!
Apparently 'net bookings' are down to 3.94 billion euros. That's still a lot of clams but not as many as the suits were expecting. Analysts are saying it's a bad sign. I don't know about you but when analysts start talking I usually reach for my blaster. Makes me wonder if I should invest my hard earned money elsewhere instead of Planet Express shares! Whoop whoop whoop!
Tariffs! The Scourge of Tomorrow... and Today!
CEO Christophe Fouquet is blaming 'uncertainty with some of our customers' and something called 'tariffs'. Sounds like a fancy way of saying 'some big wigs are arguing over money again'! He even mentioned AI as a key driver but these trade wars will drag everything down. As if the world needs another reason for robots to take over the world. Reminds me of that time Calculon almost destroyed New New York in pursuit of acting glory. Good thing Bender was there!
Trumped Up Tariffs? (Oh My!)
So here's the Earthican kicker: Donald Trump and his team are flip flopping on tariff exemptions for electronics. One minute they're in the next they're out then they're in a 'different bucket'. Honestly this is more confusing than trying to explain the rules of Blernsball to Zoidberg! It appears Trump is up to no good trying to cause trouble like that time he tried to buy Planet Express.
National Security Schmational Schmecurity!
The U.S. Commerce Department is poking around investigating semiconductor imports to see if they're a 'national security' risk. Give me a break! Sounds like a plot straight out of a Captain Yesterday comic. Is it possible to protect humanity and preserve one's self respect at the same time?
Nvidia's Taking a Hit! Ouch!
Nvidia another bigwig in the chip game is bracing for a $5.5 billion hit because of U.S. restrictions on exporting its fancy H20 graphics processing unit to China. See? Told ya this tariff nonsense was going to cause trouble! It just goes to show you can't win them all. One thing is for sure I plan on living forever or dying trying!

Anyone else think Trump is an idiot?
