Gentlemen and I use the term loosely Doctor Evil here. So President Trump that tangerine terror has a new plan. A 'big beautiful bill,' he calls it. Sounds like a beauty pageant for inanimate objects if you ask me. Anyway this bill is supposed to make it cheaper for semiconductor companies to build plants in the U.S. Rrrrright! Because America needs more computer chips...to power my Doomsday Device! Or at least my self propelled shark mounted laser beam! Essentially the tax credits for these companies could jump from 25% to 35%. That's almost...one third! We're talking companies like Intel TSMC Micron Technology...all the big boys. Provided of course they expand their advanced manufacturing in the U.S. by 2026. Frankly I find that deadline insulting. I could build a world destroying laser by then! Maybe two!

CHIPS Act: A Gift That Keeps On Giving (Or At Least Tries To)

This new scheme expands on the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act. Which let's be honest sounded way cooler in theory than it actually was. $39 billion in grants and $75 billion in loans? That's barely enough to fund my underground volcano lair for a week! And I'm not even counting the sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now before these super sized tax credits kick in Trump's bill has to pass the House. Seems they already had their own version last month. Politicians! Can't they just agree on things so I can take over the world already?

Trump vs. Biden: A Battle for Chip Supremacy!

Ever since Trump's first term Washington has been trying to bring the semiconductor supply chain back from Asia. Support the domestic players and keep China from getting too powerful. Good! More power for me! Err...I mean...more power for America! Of course Trump wanted to repeal the CHIPS Act at one point. Said tariffs were the way to go. Well that's one idea. I prefer tariffs...on FUN! No more laughing people! No more smiling! Unless it's at my hilarious evil schemes. Which they rarely are. Because they're evil.

Apparently the threat of Trump's tariffs is making chip companies speed up their investments in the U.S. They're terrified I tell you! TSMC Nvidia Micron GlobalFoundries...they're all scrambling to set up shop here. All because of the looming specter of...taxes! Ha! Taxes. The most evil invention of all time! I should know! I've tried to avoid them on several occasions.

Offsetting Costs: The Sweet Smell of Free Money!

Some genius named Daniel Newman says these tax credits could offset the costs of building in the U.S. Brilliant! Free money! I mean 'incentives.' Yes incentives. It's like getting paid to be evil! Wait... Anyway if this bill passes we can expect to see even MORE chip factories popping up across the country. More chips mean more processing power. More processing power means...well you'll have to wait and see. It involves a giant magnet and the Earth's magnetic poles. But that's a story for another time!

So what's the takeaway here? Trump's 'big beautiful bill' could have a real impact on the semiconductor industry. It might even help the U.S. compete with China. But more importantly it could provide me Doctor Evil with the resources I need to finally achieve my ultimate goal: world domination! Mwah hah hah! And if that doesn't work I'll just hold the world ransom for... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
