Great Success? Or Just Great Stealing?

The big very nice company called Getty Images the one with all the pictures of beautiful ladies and strong tractors is very angry. Why? Because some AI companies especially one called Stability AI are doing the steal! They are taking Getty's precious pictures without asking like when I tried to take Pamela Anderson for my wife! Not nice!

Millions of Dollars? Very Expensive Kissing!

Craig Peters the big boss of Getty says these AI companies are like naughty children who 'move fast and break things'. They use the pictures to make their AI models strong like my neighbor Nursultan Tulyakbay's prize winning donkey but they don't pay! Getty is spending 'millions and millions of dollars' to fight this which is more than I spent on my 'Learn English' course! He says it's not competition it's just plain theft like when I tried to steal the celebrity's poop from their toilet!

Fair Use? Or Just Fair Stealing?

These AI companies they say it's 'fair use' like when I used the hotel's soap to wash my… you know! They say they are making something new from the pictures. But Getty says 'No way Jose!' They are suing Stability AI in England and America for using 12 million pictures without permission which is more pictures than I have of myself wrestling a bear! Stability AI says Getty's claims have no merit is no good!

The Innovation Killer?

The AI companies say that if they have to pay for the pictures it will 'kill innovation' like when I tried to 'innovate' a new way to milk a cow with a vacuum cleaner! Peters the Getty boss says this is just 'rhetoric' like when my cousin said he invented the internet. He said that new competition is good but theft is bad. Is very simple!

Microsoft Google and Amazon: The Big Boys Are Playing!

Other AI companies like OpenAI and Mistral are also doing this taking data from all over the internet like when I took 'information' from the American handbook! These companies have big friends like Microsoft Google and Amazon who are giving them billions of dollars more money than I've ever seen in my village! Getty has a strong case but the legal system is slow like trying to get a visa to America! The trial starts in June.
