Trump Wants to Fire the Fed Chair?! DOH!

Alright folks Homer Simpson here reporting live from… uh… my couch! Turns out the guy with the funny hair Trump is thinking about giving the boot to the head honcho of the Federal Reserve some fella named Jerome Powell. Now I don't know much about the Fed but it sounds important like the place that makes all the money… and if they make money why can't they make ME money? D'oh! And it sounds complicated. You know like trying to understand why Marge likes that squiggly haired lady with the pearls.

Warsh ing Away the Problem?

Apparently Trump talked to some other guy Kevin Warsh (sounds like a disease doesn't it?) about taking Powell's place. But get this – Warsh told him 'Hey maybe chill out and don't fire the guy!' Even this Warsh guy thinks it's a bad idea! Now that's what I call a predicament! A little like when I tried to build my own BBQ pit. Remember that Marge? *Marge groans in the background*.

Interest Rates? More Like Interest... Zzzzz

The article says Trump is mad because Powell won't lower interest rates. I dunno what that means exactly but it sounds like something that would affect the price of beer. If beer gets more expensive I'm gonna be VERY unhappy. I'm telling you that's grounds for impeachment! And what is that Truth Social post anyway? Sounds like some new fangled way of ordering donuts online.

Trump's Mad! Trump Smash!

So Trump went and said that Powell's “termination cannot come fast enough!” Sounds like something Mr. Burns would say to Smithers after he accidentally misplaces his dentures. And then he even said "If I want him out he'll be out of there real fast believe me." Woah sounds like Moe when he is about to throw Barney out of the tavern! I tell ya these guys are always arguing! Why can't they all just get along like me and my Duff?

Even Lisa's Worried!

Get this: even Elizabeth Warren who I'm guessing is like a smarter less yellow version of Lisa is saying that firing Powell is a bad idea. She's worried about the Fed's “independence.” I don't know what that means but it sounds important like making sure the donut machine is working properly. If Lisa's worried then you KNOW something's up! *Marge yells from the kitchen* "Homer Lisa's a vegetarian!" D'oh!

So what does this all mean? I have no idea! But if Trump fires Powell and Lisa's worried and beer prices go up… well then we're all in trouble.
