FBI's Dire Warning: 'Release the Hounds!'... Oh Wait Just Listen Closely

Good heavens has the world gone mad? Apparently some ne'er do wells are employing artificial intelligence to mimic the voices of high ranking U.S. officials. The FBI in their infinite wisdom has issued a warning. A warning mind you! As if these buffoons are going to heed it. I mean really it's like telling Brian not to drink the sherry – utterly futile! Apparently these 'malicious actors' are trying to trick people. I say we should trick them first with one of my freeze rays!

Smishing and Vishing: A Symphony of Scams Conducted by Morons

The FBI says these scoundrels use 'smishing' and 'vishing' – oh how dreadfully technical! Essentially they're sending texts and AI generated voice messages pretending to be someone important. It's all a ruse to gain your trust like when Bertram pretended to be my friend… until I discovered his dastardly plan for world domination naturally. Remember if you think it's too good to be true like Lois actually understanding my scientific endeavors it probably is!

The Malicious Links: A Digital Trap Sprung by Imbeciles

These charlatans want you to click on malicious links claiming it will move the conversation to another platform. It's a classic bait and switch like when Peter promises to take me to Legoland but ends up at the Drunken Clam. And once they gain access to these accounts it's Katy bar the door because according to the announcement the scammers gain access to those accounts by sending their targets malicious links which they claim will move conversations to a separate messaging platform.

Stealing Secrets and Impersonating Contacts: The Ultimate Insult

Once inside they pilfer contact information and impersonate people. The gall! The audacity! Imagine someone pretending to be… ME! The horror! It's like Brian attempting to write a novel without plagiarizing – an exercise in utter futility. They then use this stolen information to target even more victims. It’s a vicious cycle of villainy and I for one am appalled!

Who's Getting Bamboozled? Senior Officials Apparently. Quelle Surprise!

The FBI won't say exactly who's being impersonated but they hint that it's 'current or former senior US federal or state government officials and their contacts.' Oh well serves them right for not having a proper security system! I mean I've got more security around my time machine than they have around their entire digital lives!

Generative AI: The New Weapon of Choice for Cyber Dastardliness

The FBI has previously warned that criminals are using generative AI to carry out new financial fraud schemes on a larger scale. Such technology can be used to generate text images audio and video to dupe potential victims into sending money falling prey to sextortion and more. Remember 'Evil is everywhere.' But so is my genius which I'm sure can be used to thwart these insidious plans. Now if you'll excuse me I have a ray gun to calibrate and a world to save. Pip pip cheerio!
