Doh! China's AI Doc App Wants to Answer My Questions... Before I Even Ask Them!

Okay folks Homer Simpson here bringing you the real deal on this newfangled AI health thingy from China. Seems like Ant Group the same fellas behind Alipay (which I guess is like their version of… uh… checks? No wait those are old school!) are rollin' out a new app called 'AQ'. Not to be confused with IQ which I definitely don't have enough of to understand all this technical mumbo jumbo. But hey if it means less time waiting at Dr. Hibbert's office I'm all ears… or eyes… or whatever.

AI Docs: Are They Smarter Than Flanders?

So this 'AQ' thingy uses Artificial Intelligence – that's like a computer brain right? – to answer your health questions. Apparently you can chat with AI versions of real doctors before you even have to see the real deal. Now I'm not sure about this. What if the AI doc tells me to eat more broccoli? I mean D'oh! That's just plain evil. But hey maybe it'll tell me to eat more donuts. Then we're talking!

5000 Hospitals and One Million Doctors? That's a Lotta Bedpans!

According to the article (which I totally read cover to cover by the way… *cough*) 'AQ' can tap into over 5,000 hospitals and nearly a million doctors in China! Holy guacamole! That's like a doctor for every… uh… every other person! Here in Springfield we got Dr. Hibbert and he's usually too busy laughing at my medical problems to actually help. Maybe I should move to China! Though I'd miss Moe's… and Duff… and donuts…

Global Domination… of Healthcare!

And here's the kicker: these Ant Group fellas wanna take this 'AQ' thing global! They're talking about licensin' the tech to other countries maybe even releasing it in other languages. Can you imagine? 'Ay caramba! My AI doctor says I need more tequila!' The possibilities are endless! (And potentially very very dangerous for my liver.)

Health is Wealth and Alipay has BOTH!

Turns out Alipay has been dabbling in the healthcare game for a while now. They already have features that let you book appointments and avoid those crazy long lines at the hospital. Apparently almost 800 million people in China are already using these features! Eight hundred million! That's a lot of people avoiding lines. Makes me wonder if they have a system for avoiding lines at the DMV…

So there you have it folks. The future of healthcare is here and it's powered by AI… and probably a lot of electricity. Will it make us healthier? Will it tell us to eat more vegetables? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure: if it can get me a donut prescription I'm all in! D'oh!
