Plane Crazy Shortage!
Woohoo! It's your favorite guy Homer Simpson reporting live from… well my couch. Turns out these fancy pants airlines are in a pickle! They can't get enough new planes from Boeing and Airbus. It's like trying to get a Duff beer when Moe's run dry – a total DISASTER! This whole thing is causing a "commercial jet shortage" and these airlines are sweating more than I do after a chili cook off. Mmm chili...
EasyJet's Easy...Losses?!
So this airline called EasyJet – sounds kinda like "easy cheese," which is NOT real cheese by the way – they lost a bunch of money. Like £394 million! That's enough to buy a lifetime supply of donuts! But their CEO Kenton Jarvis says not to worry because people still want to fly. He's all like "Demand looks good!" Sounds like something Mr. Burns would say before cutting our bonuses!
Blame it on the Airplane!
Turns out EasyJet is blaming Boeing and Airbus for not delivering the goods. Jarvis is saying that the main capacity constraints are around airline deliveries with both Airbus and Boeing not meeting their original delivery schedules. So we can only expect a 1% 2% 3% increase in capacity this summer. D'oh! That's fewer seats for me and the family to get to that all you can eat buffet in… uh… where was it again? Oh well doesn’t matter… it's gone now!
Europeans Gone Wild...For Travel!
Even with the plane shortage some fancy European travel commission says people are still booking longer vacations and spending more money! These Europeans are living the dream and want to reconnect with destinations and cultures. They also said that people are interested in going to Poland Britain the Netherlands and Spain. Sounds fancy but I’d rather go to Krusty Burger. Mmm Krusty Burger…
Boeing's Back...Sort Of!
Boeing says they delivered twice as many planes in April as they did last year. That sounds good right? But they've been having some serious problems lately so who knows if they can keep it up? It's like when I try to fix the toilet myself – ends up flooding the whole house. D'oh!
Ryanair to the Rescue (Maybe)!
The Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary is saying Boeing is actually getting better! He says they even delivered some planes early! Woohoo! Maybe there's hope for that vacation after all! And get this – he also says oil prices are going down. Cheaper fuel means cheaper flights! This summer is looking up even if I have to share an armrest with Lenny.

At least the beer will still be cold.
