Blast These Bloody Tariffs!

Good heavens has anyone seen my laser gun? Because I'm about ready to blast these tariffs back to the Stone Age! Apparently President Trump or as I like to call him 'that orange buffoon,' has decided to slap everyone with 'reciprocal' tariffs. And what's the result? The stock market is having a 'Brian off his martini' level meltdown and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

The IMF's Great Big Dummy Spit

The IMF in its infinite wisdom has slashed its 2025 growth forecast. Apparently these tariffs are a 'major negative shock to growth.' I mean even Rupert my teddy bear could have told you that! They had to rewrite their entire World Economic Outlook because of Trump's little tariff tantrum. Honestly it's like trying to teach Brian calculus – utterly pointless.

Recession? Oh Goodie!

And the best part? The IMF now thinks there's a 40% chance of a recession in the U.S. Forty percent! That's higher than the chances of Brian actually fetching a newspaper! This is precisely why I need to finish my time machine. I'm off to invest in canned goods and gold or perhaps I will become a Bond villain hmmm!

Inflation's Having a Jolly Good Time

As if things weren't bleak enough the IMF is also forecasting higher inflation. Apparently those stubborn price dynamics and Trump's tariffs are making everything more expensive. Soon my Evil Lair will cost a fortune to power and I'll have to cut back on my caviar budget. This is simply unacceptable!

The Dollar's Gone Wonky

Now here's where things get really complicated. The dollar's exchange rate is doing some sort of economic jig thanks to these tariffs. Apparently in the medium term the dollar might depreciate if these tariffs make the U.S. less productive. Honestly it's enough to make one yearn for the simple days of world domination!

CNBC Pro LIVE?! Is This Another One of Brian's Get Rich Quick Schemes?!

Oh jolly good! It seems CNBC Pro is having a shindig at the New York Stock Exchange. Apparently you can get 'expert insights' into these uncertain markets. I suspect it's just a bunch of blokes in suits saying 'buy low sell high,' which frankly is about as insightful as Brian's political opinions. Limited tickets? Pish posh. I'd rather spend my time perfecting my death ray.

I'm pretty sure Herbert's economic advice is no better than his social skills.
