Mmm Numbers... Wait These Taste Bad!

Hey hey everybody! Homer Simpson here your friendly neighborhood… well I'm not sure what I am but I saw some numbers and they weren't as good as a box of donuts. Turns out this Flutter company the big kahuna behind FanDuel had a bit of a 'boo urns' quarter. They were supposed to make $1.89 per share but only coughed up $1.59! That's like promising me a donut and then giving me… broccoli! Eww!

Those Pesky College Kids and Their Baskets!

Apparently this Peter Jackson fella the head honcho at Flutter is blaming those darned college basketball players! He says the underdogs winning in the NCAA tournament messed with their profits. It's always something isn't it? First it's Bart messing with my stuff now it's college kids ruining gambling profits! Why can't things just go my way for once? I need a Duff Beer and a nap after this.

And get this: they also didn't make as much moolah as they expected in general. We're talking $3.67 billion when they thought they'd rake in $3.84 billion. That's a lot of donuts they could have bought with that extra cash! I tell you this economy is tougher than trying to explain Krusty the Clown to a health inspector.

Uh Oh Guidance is Getting the 'Lisa' Treatment

Because of all this bad news Flutter had to lower its expectations for the rest of the year in the U.S. It's like when Lisa tells me my plans are unrealistic. Always bringing me down! But hey at least they're doing better overseas because of some fancy money stuff and buying other companies. Woohoo! Go global or go home I always say!

Gambling: It's Better Than Working Right?

Mr. Jackson (not the cool musician one sadly) seems to think people will keep gambling even if the economy is worse than a week without donuts. He's betting (pun intended ha!) that folks will still throw their money at sports and casino games online. Hey I can't blame 'em. It's gotta be better than going to work at Sector 7G. Doh!
