Blast Off! Unexpected Growth?

Good heavens what's this? China that behemoth of industry is showing signs of life! Apparently the Caixin/S & P Global manufacturing PMI has clocked in at a rather robust 50.4. This my friends is a development. It seems our friends in the Far East are defying expectations and reminding everyone that as I always say 'Victory is mine!'

A Survey Says... Maybe?

Now before we all start singing 'Kumbaya' and planning our trips to the Great Wall let's not get ahead of ourselves. There's a fly in the ointment as always. The official PMI that dreary buzzkill paints a different picture – a contraction no less! It's like when Brian tries to write a novel; the ambition is there but the execution? Tragic. This discrepancy between surveys is more confusing than Brian's attempt at a stand up routine.

Tariffs Trade and Treachery (Oh My!)

Ah trade wars! The stuff of high finance and my own personal world domination plans. It seems the Chinese are trying to outsmart those blustering Yanks by shipping goods early. A cunning plan if I do say so myself. But of course it's all a house of cards isn't it? The truce is expiring and who knows what sort of shenanigans will ensue? It's enough to make one scream 'Curse you vile star!' (Though frankly I say that quite often anyway.)

Shifting Sands: New Markets

Necessity as they say is the mother of invention. And by 'they,' I mean some historical figure too boring for me to bother remembering. With the Americans throwing tantrums and slapping on tariffs like a toddler with finger paint China is wisely looking elsewhere. Southeast Asia and Europe are the new playgrounds. Clever clever. Though I still think world domination through advanced weaponry is the more direct approach...

Fentanyl Follies

Fentanyl eh? Even I the evil genius am somewhat taken aback. Apparently there is some talk of de escalation in this particular area of trade tension. The U.S. might drop its tariff on Chinese goods related to fentanyl. If that were to happen it would mean that Stewie Griffin may have to invest in fentanyl as it seems to be a great opportunity to become even more rich.

Developing Story: Stay Tuned!

Well there you have it. The world of economics as predictable as a Brian Griffin love affair. Things are shifting changing and generally being a nuisance. Keep your eyes peeled my dears because this is just the beginning. And remember when things get confusing just remember my words: 'What the deuce?' It applies to almost everything.
