The World is Yours... But Your Kids are Trippin'!
Listen up you punks! This world it's mine! But even a kingpin like me gotta deal with the little monsters. Turns out these kids today they're more stressed than a Colombians accountant after a bust. Family therapists Ashley Graber and Maria Evans are saying parents are clueless and kids are anxious. I'm Tony Montana and I'm here to tell you it's a jungle out there even for the bambinos.
Social Sh**Storm: Fitting In Ain't Easy
These little punks are worryin' about what their 'friends' think. They wanna fit in be liked. 'Oh Tony my shoes are not Gucci!' Tough sh** kid! Back in my day we wore what we could get! But I get it see? It's about power respect feeling like you belong. If you're different BAM! You're a target. Bullying teasing. Makes you wanna grab a machine gun right? But instead of going full Scarface maybe teach 'em to stand up for themselves. Like I always say 'I tell the truth even when I lie.'
Social Media: The Devil's Playground
Now this social media bullsh**... This is a whole other level of messed up. Kids comparing themselves to fake lives highlight reels. It's poison! They see these 'influencers' livin' the high life and they feel like crap. No supervision? Forget about it! It's a straight shot to anxiety town. Makes me wanna delete the internet myself you know? But that's just me. I tell the truth even when I lie.
Life's a B**ch Then You Move!
Moving new schools big changes. It's a kick in the teeth. Even if it's supposed to be good they're losing something. New sibling? 'Oh I'm not the only baby anymore!' Tough luck kid! And some changes like parents splitting up a friend leaving? That's rough. Like Manny said 'Everything's gonna be all right.' Yeah right. But you gotta be there for them tell 'em it's gonna be okay even if you don't believe it yourself.
Too Much is Never Enough... Except When It Is!
Packed schedules academics extracurriculars. No time to breathe! These kids are runnin' around like Colombians on payday! No relaxation? Chronic stress. Gotta give 'em time to chill play process. It's how they learn how they figure things out. Remember I was a refugee once came to this country with nothing. I made somethin but I also learned to stop and smell the roses. Or you know the mountains of money.
Trauma: Scars That Don't Fade
Trauma. That sh** sticks with you. A dog bite car crash seeing someone get hurt. It messes you up. Makes you jumpy scared. Gotta help 'em feel safe secure. Teach 'em to cope to name their feelings. It's like I always say 'I'm bad but I'm going to be good'. Maybe these kids aren't bad but they need to learn to be good to themselves.
