Wubba Lubba Dub Buyback!
Alright alright settle down you Summer types. Grandpa Rick here and I'm about to drop some hard science on this AMD situation. So AMD right? They're throwing around six *billion* Earth dollars to buy back their own shares. That's on top of another four billion they already had lined up. Ten BILLION DOLLARS Morty! What is that like a gazillion schmeckles? The board thinks they're hot stuff all confident with their "strategic direction" and "strong free cash flow". Newsflash: corporations always say that Morty. Always! It's like their version of 'Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!' – meaningless drivel.
Show Me the Money (Or at Least the Saudi Oil)
Speaking of money they’re cozying up to Saudi Arabia cutting a deal worth potentially ten billion for some AI company called Humain. Humain! What kind of name is that? Sounds like something Jerry would come up with. Anyway Lisa Su – smart lady gotta give her that – she’s over there peddling AI chips. Graphics processors central processors the whole shebang. Look I get it Morty. Gotta chase the dough even if it means dealing with… questionable entities. Just don't get any ideas about regime change alright? Remember the prime directive is always 'Don't get involved!'
Nvidia's Got Competition? Get Schwifty!
So AMD's playing catch up with Nvidia in the AI chip game. Good for them! A little competition never hurt anyone… except maybe those companies that go bankrupt. They are competing for AI servers which are the next best thing. I heard the company will also purchase Nvidia chips as well so good news for everyone? Maybe Morty is right about being optimistic. Oh wait did I say that out loud? Sh*t.
Analyst Schm analyst
And of course we got the analysts chiming in like Bank of America's Vivek Arya slapping a $130 price target on AMD. Oh geez Rick! So what does that mean for the future? Well it means nothing Morty! These guys are about as reliable as a fart in a spacesuit. Remember what I always say: 'Don't trust anyone especially not yourself!' Listen to the voices Morty they are all fools.
Earnings Schmearnings: Numbers Don't Lie (But They Sure Can Obfuscate)
They made 96 cents in adjusted earnings per share (don't ask me what 'adjusted' means; it's corporate voodoo) on $7.44 billion in revenue. Big numbers Morty. Really big. But remember numbers can be twisted and manipulated like a… like a Rubik's Cube in the hands of a sentient virus. So take it with a grain of salt. Or maybe a whole shaker. I don't care.
Gravy Train or Doom Train?
Bottom line Morty: AMD's making moves. Whether it's a genius play or a slow motion train wreck remains to be seen. But for now sit back grab a Plumbus and enjoy the ride. And remember reality is an illusion the universe is a hologram buy gold bye! Oh wait... that's Bill Cipher nevermind.
pvuppal
So, should I sell my Nvidia stock then?
