What the Deuce is Going On?
Alright folks Peter Griffin here reporting live from my recliner! So I heard this crazy news see? Nintendo you know the guys who make those games I pretend to play with Stewie but really I'm just drooling at the TV – they're delaying pre orders for the new Switch 2! Why? Because that orange faced jabroni Trump slapped some HUGE tariffs on stuff. Tariffs! It's like that time I tried to understand the stock market… ended with me buying a lifetime supply of mayonnaise.
Trump's Tariff Tango: A Real Knee Slapper?
Apparently these tariffs are gonna make things more expensive. Nintendo's all like "We gotta figure out what this means for us and more importantly for your wallets!" They're pushing the preorder date back from April 9 2025 but they're still aiming for that June 5 2025 launch date. I hope they don't delay it further cause if they do I'm gonna go down to Washington and give Trump a piece of my mind. Then I'll probably run away crying because I'm afraid of conflict.
Asia: The Land of Electronics and Really High Tariffs
So get this: most of these electronics companies make their stuff in Asia. Places like China and Vietnam. And guess what? Trump decided to hike up the tariffs on those places especially Vietnam and China which have had a +40% increase! It's like when I tried to make my own beer Pawtucket Patriot Ale. I made it in Vietnam! Let's just say it didn't go so well for the Vietnamese... or for me.
Where's the Switch 2 Coming From? Not From My Basement!
Nintendo is being cagey about where they're building the new Switch 2. They ain't spilling the beans. Back in 2019 the original Switch came from China and Vietnam but who knows now? Maybe they're building them in Cleveland? All I know is I better get my hands on one of these things before Chris eats it thinking it's a giant sandwich.
$450?! That's More Than My Bar Tab!
Alright listen up because this is serious! This new Switch 2 is gonna cost $450! That's a lot of clams even for me and I once spent $10,000 on a solid gold hat! Now Nintendo hasn't said if they're gonna raise the price even more but some fancy pants trade group thinks it could go up by 50%! 50 Lois! That means I might have to sell the Griffin family heirloom... my signed William Shatner headshot.
Bigger Faster and Probably Still Gonna End Up Under the Couch
This Switch 2 is supposed to be a super duper upgrade from the old one. Bigger faster powered by some fancy Nvidia chip. You can play it on the go or hook it up to your TV. And it's all set to launch in June right alongside a new Mario Kart! But will it actually happen? Only time and Trump's tariffs will tell. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go practice my Mario Kart skills. Quagmire won't know what hit him!
