OMG Did Zuck Almost Break Up With Insta?

Okay dolls so I'm scrolling through my news feed (because duh I have to stay on top of EVERYTHING) and I see this CRAZY article about Mark Zuckerberg almost dumping Instagram back in 2018! Can you even IMAGINE?! Like that's where I post my best selfies my Skims ads everything! My whole brand is basically built on that platform. It's like would I even exist without Instagram? Serious question.

Lawsuit Drama! Like Seriously?

Apparently this whole thing came to light during some antitrust trial with the FTC. Antitrust? Sounds boring TBH. But basically the FTC is saying Meta (aka Facebook) has a monopoly on social media. Like duh! But they're saying Zuck shouldn't have been allowed to buy Instagram and WhatsApp in the first place. It's like you snooze you lose FTC! Get with the program!

The Email Heard 'Round the World

So there's this email from 2018 where Zuck is like "Hmmm maybe we should spin out Instagram to avoid getting sued." Honestly even I know that doesn't sound good and I almost failed basic business law. He was worried about being forced to do it later anyway. I mean at least he was thinking ahead right? Even if it meant potentially ripping away my precious Instagram. The nerve!

From 13 Employees to Billions! That's the American Dream!

Can you believe Instagram only had 13 employees when Facebook bought it for a BILLION dollars? That's like less than the number of people on my glam squad on a slow day. And WhatsApp for $19 billion! It is mind blowing. It's like 'Get your money's worth,' you know? Invest in good content like my posts! You're welcome Zuck.

Snapchat Shade! Never Forget the $6 Billion Offer

Ooh and get this Zuck also tried to buy Snapchat for $6 billion back in 2013 but Evan Spiegel turned him down! Can you imagine Snapchat being under the same umbrella as Facebook and Instagram?! It would have been such a wild power play! Talk about *controlling your narrative*! Maybe that's why I'm so good at social media.
