Geralt of Rivia reports on Toyota's forecast of a 21% profit decline, blaming Trump's tariffs, a strong yen, and rising material costs. Sounds like a monster contract gone wrong.

Wind's Howling...and So is Toyota's Profit Forecast

Right so winds of change are howling and not the kind that bring a good monster contract. Seems Toyota the world's top car peddler is expecting a right kick in the coin pouch. They're forecasting a 21% profit decline for the year. Twenty one percent! Makes a Witcher's salary look generous. I’ve seen drowners with more liquid assets.

Trump's Tariffs: A Witcher's Silver for Automakers?

Apparently this whole mess stems from that bard brained buffoon Trump's tariffs. The blighter's protectionist policies are causing right proper headaches. It's not just about slapping taxes on Toyota's exports to the US but also the risk of a downturn in consumer mood. People start tightening their purse strings and suddenly even Roach is getting fewer apples. Now I understand that governments can be more evil than monsters. Some monsters are born others are made.

Yen sanity: When Currency Bites Back

Then there's this 'appreciating yen' business. Means the Japanese coin is getting stronger. Sounds good eh? Not so fast. It makes their cars more expensive abroad. Like trying to sell a Griffin's head for the price of a Fiend's. No one's buying it. The lower profit for the coming year was due to the negative impact from a stronger yen as well as higher material prices and the impact of tariffs Toyota said in a presentation.

Materials Costs: Like Asking for More Orens for Monster Parts

On top of all that the cost of materials is going up. Steel rubber unicorn tears for the leather seats… you know the usual. It's like trying to haggle with a Doppler. They always want more. Soon they will ask for a witcher as materials cost. Toss a coin to your Witcher oh valley of plenty. They will soon toss a coin to Toyota!

American Dreams and Labor Pains

And get this – Toyota might have to spend more coin expanding their operations in the US. Higher labor costs more investments...sounds like a contract with a demanding employer. You always end up with less than you bargained for. I have heard many stories about America.

China Syndrome: Even Dragons Face Competition

Even the dragon's hoard in China is dwindling. Toyota's sales are declining there too thanks to those pesky Chinese automakers. Seems like even a well oiled machine can't outrun a Drowner in its own swamp. But what's the phrase? "Evil is Evil. Lesser greater middling… Makes no difference." Either way Toyota is not looking good.

So, less orens for everyone? Wonderful.

Maybe they should consult Vesemir. He always knew how to manage the Witcher's finances... somehow.

If Toyota needs a monster hunter to solve their problems, I know a guy.

I bet Dandelion could write a ballad about this whole mess. A terribly inaccurate and overly dramatic one, but still.

At least Roach doesn't care about Toyota's profit margins. As long as she gets her apples.

Tariffs, yen, rising costs...sounds like a curse to me. Where's a mage when you need one?

This is worse than dealing with a Leshen. At least you can burn those to the ground.

Hmm, this is more complicated than following Yennefer's instructions.
