Wind's Howling...and So Is My Wallet!

Right so heard about this ruckus with NATO. Apparently these blokes decided they need to spend more coin on protecting their hides. Doubling their defense spending target from 2% to a whopping 5% of GDP by 2035! Five percent! I could buy a dozen Roach es with that kind of money maybe even one that doesn't get stuck on every blasted fence. Makes a Witcher wonder if they're expecting a Wild Hunt of their own... Or maybe just more drowners in the bureaucracy.

Buy American...or Else!

Antonio Costa some fancy EU Council President reckons this solves a big problem between Europe and the US. Seems the Yanks were grumbling about not getting enough love – or gold rather – from across the pond. So Europe's gonna 'buy American,' he says. Translation? More shiny expensive toys from across the ocean. More bang for their buck as they say. Me? I prefer a good solid steel blade forged by a master smith. Less likely to malfunction when you're facing a griffin.

Trump's 'Big Win'? More Like a Royal Decree

Costa even echoed that loudmouth Trump calling this agreement a 'big win.' Hmph. Sounds like something Emhyr var Emreis would say after conquering another kingdom. Always with the 'wins,' never any talk about the cost. I smell politics and it stinks worse than a noonwraith's armpit. Though it does rebalance the burden of defense. Which for once is a good thing. Maybe now the kingdoms can put coin towards eradicating monsters and other unsavory things.

Tariff Trouble Brewing: A Witcher's Brew of Uncertainty

Now there's talk about rushing to make a deal with the States before some 'reciprocal tariffs' kick in. Seems Trump's got a deadline early July for slapping extra taxes on imports from pretty much everywhere. Sounds like a right mess. Like trying to haggle with a merchant in Novigrad after he's already swindled you. Good luck with that.

Deadlines? Just Guidelines Apparently

The White House – that's like a castle made of red tape I hear – is saying these tariff deadlines aren't so critical. Could be extended they claim. 'A decision for the president,' they say. Sounds like someone's trying to play both sides. Reminds me of Dandelion always trying to charm his way out of trouble. Usually works too the silver tongued devil.

Hoping for a Deal: More Chance Than a Golden Dragon

Costa ever the optimist hopes the EU can strike a deal before the deadline. Well good for him. Me? I'm not holding my breath. Politics is a swamp and getting out of it clean is harder than finding a griffin that pays in coin instead of screams. Time to oil my blade just in case things go south. As always.
