What in the Actual Forsen is This?

Alright alright settle down you beautiful baldies. I just saw this headline: Waymo owned by Alphabet and Toyota are buddy buddy now trying to slap robotaxi tech into YOUR personal car. I'm sitting here lookin' at this thinking 'Are we speedrunning the goddamn apocalypse?' I mean seriously what's next? Skynet? Are we gonna be fighting off T 800s in our self driving Corollas? This is some serious 'content' but is it good content? That's the real question.

Toyota Waymo and the Pursuit of... Laziness?

So apparently these two giants want to 'enhance next generation personally owned vehicles.' Enhance? Is that what we're calling it now? I thought enhancing meant adding a spoiler or maybe some racing stripes. Now it means letting a computer drive your car while you're in the back seat with a VR headset on. I'm just picturing a future where everyone is so lazy they can't even be bothered to steer. I mean I get it driving in L.A. traffic sucks but c'mon!

Waymo's Ride Hailing Empire: Soon in a Toyota Near You?

The Waymo co CEO Tekedra Mawakana is all hyped about maybe even throwing Toyota vehicles into their ride hailing fleet. So let me get this straight: they want to build robots that drive people around and then shove those robots into the cars we already own? It's like putting a CPU into my mom's brain. I'm starting to think these guys just want to see how far they can push this whole automation thing before we're all living in pods eating bugs and worshiping the algorithm.

From Fiat Chrysler to Toyota: Waymo's 'Friends' List is Longer Than My Hairline

Waymo's been makin' friends left and right. Jaguar Land Rover Fiat Chrysler Daimler Trucks Mercedes Benz Hyundai Geely... it's like a goddamn tech bro orgy in the automotive industry. The article says these partnerships mostly led to modified vehicles for testing. Well how much testing do we need? Are they gonna test it till the end of time? I'm telling you they're just paving the road to AI domination. They're saying one thing and then behind closed doors they're working on the singularity.

Elon vs. Waymo: A Battle of the Egos (and the Robotaxis)

And then there's Elon Musk throwing shade at Waymo for making robotaxis that are supposedly too expensive. And then he says Tesla will be 'selling fully autonomous rides in June in Austin.' Classic Elon. Always got something to say. Remember what he said about the Cybertruck window? 'Oh my god it didn't go through!' Anyways it's always something with that dude. Like it or hate it that is just how it is.

The Bottom Line: Are We Ready for Robot Overlords?

So what's the real takeaway here? Waymo and Toyota are teaming up Elon's making promises he probably can't keep and we're all just sitting here waiting for the robot overlords to take the wheel. Are we ready for this? I don't know man. All I know is I'm gonna keep driving my own damn car until the robots pry my cold dead hands off the steering wheel. And even then I'll haunt that self driving son of a bitch.

The amount of trust required for a robot to drive you is insane.
