Samsung's Thinner Foldable: Is This the Answer to Our Prayers, or Just More Shiny Trash?

Alright alright settle down you goblins! Asmongold here ready to drop some truth bombs on this Samsung foldable news. Apparently they're trying to make their foldable phone...thinner. Yeah revolutionary I know. You see these companies are battling to make the SLIMMEST phones because apparently people want them I have no idea why. But who cares when you have a phone when you can have an old nokia to smash on the floor instead?

Chinese Phones? NEVER HEARD OF THEM!

Now I've never heard of these Chinese companies (Honor and Oppo) but apparently they're making phones that are thinner and lighter than Samsung's. Now I'm a Samsung guy (sponsor me!) but even I can admit when the competition's stepping up. And let me tell you this is NOT the meta I want to see. I love the fat samsung phones so I can throw them at a wall when I'm tilted!

Why Should I Care About a Slimmer Phone?

Okay so some fancy analyst guy (Ben Wood) says that thinness is 'critical' for foldables. Apparently people don't want a THICK phone when they fold. Well NEWS FLASH what is wrong with a thick phone? The thicker the phone the more durable and can be used to defend yourself!

The Specs: Numbers and Stuff

Alright let's get down to the nitty gritty. Samsung's last foldable was like 12.1mm thick and weighed 239 grams. Oppo's is 8.93mm and 229 grams. And Honor's is 9.2mm and 226 grams. So what. Those numbers are all meaningless unless you are a nerd. I barely understand half of that stuff so I have no idea why you guys do.

Samsung Needs to Step Up Says Who?

This Wood guy says Samsung needs to 'step up.' No kidding! I mean come on Samsung are you gonna let these NO NAME brands beat you at your own game? Where's the innovation? Where's the...uh...stuff? But I guess Samsung is supposedly launching their new phone this month which is great and will make the phone even better. But the question is do I care?

Foldable Market: Dead On Arrival?

Here's the real kicker: foldables are only gonna be 2% of the market this year. TWO PERCENT! That's like less than the number of viewers who actually donate on stream. So are thinner phones the answer? Maybe. But honestly most people just don't see why they need a foldable phone in the first place. I MEAN WHAT IS THE POINT??! WHAT IS THE GOAL??! It doesn't do anything extra. But apple is going to launch theirs next year who would have thought.
