Bah! That buffoon in the White House Donald Trump is at it again meddling where he doesn't belong! One minute he's slapping tariffs on everything that moves the next he's… well slapping tariffs on *almost* everything that moves. It seems his pronouncements on pharmaceutical tariffs have caused a flutter amongst the stock tickers. Shares wobbled stocks dipped and I nearly choked on my morning sherry Smithers! But a temporary reprieve has been granted a 90 day pause a pathetic delay to the inevitable!

A Temporary Respite or a Diabolical Trap?

This so called 'pause' on tariffs is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to appear reasonable while he continues his crusade. The man's economic policies are as coherent as a drunken pirate's shanty! He claims these tariffs will incentivize drug companies to move manufacturing to the U.S. In this economy? It's preposterous! As if simply willing it so will make it happen. It's all smoke and mirrors Smithers smoke and mirrors. The entire affair smacks of desperation a last ditch effort to appease his base before they realize he's as clueless as a newborn guppy.

The Dreaded Shrinking of Domestic Production!

Apparently the hoi polloi are concerned that domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing has shrunk. Shrinking you say? Good! More room for… uh… *other* things! Like say my collection of priceless antique snuff boxes! Frankly I say let them import their pills from wherever they want as long as it doesn't affect my bottom line. After all a healthy populace is a productive populace and a productive populace is… well more useful to me.

Analysts Bleat Like Sheep!

Wall Street analysts are whining that it will be difficult and costly to reshore production. Difficult? Costly? Since when have those words ever deterred me! These whiny analysts are just upset that their gravy train might be derailed. Bah! Let them adapt or perish like the rest of the riff raff. If they think I care about their 'complex networks of manufacturing sites,' they're sorely mistaken. I care about one thing and one thing only: Power! And perhaps a good plate of haggis Smithers.

A gaggle of House Democrats is crying foul wailing about 'devastating consequences' and 'impossible rationing decisions.' As if I care about the 'devastating consequences' for the commoners. As for the Democrats they will use any opportunity to make me look bad. As for them and their whining I say release the hounds!

Ultimately this tariff kerfuffle is a sideshow a mere distraction from the true goal: squeezing every last penny from the masses. Whether it's through tariffs taxes or good old fashioned exploitation I shall not rest until I have amassed every shiny object on this miserable planet!
