The Dragon's Hoard: A Tempting Proposition
Right so I'm supposed to be reportin' on this AMD thing somethin' about chips and China. Sounds like a bloody alchemy experiment gone wrong doesn't it? Apparently this Lisa Su AMD's head honcho reckons China's a "large opportunity." Well tell that to the merchants who lost their shirts tryin' to trade with Nilfgaard. Always a catch there is. Still gotta admire the ambition even if it smells like a striga's lair.
The Delicate Dance: Blades and Balance
Su’s spoutin' about "balance" – export controls for safety but wide tech adoption for U.S. jobs. Easier said than done love. It's like tryin' to parry a griffin mid flight while negotiating a contract with a Dopplerganger. She claims that U.S. leadership in AI is the main objective...Hmm... 'Evil is Evil. Lesser greater middling… Makes no difference.' I hope this AI doesn't end up deciding that we're all 'lesser evil' in the long run.
A Witcher's Intuition: Trouble Brewing?
Here's the catch: AMD expects a hefty hit – one point five BILLION – from China export controls. That's a lot of orens even for a Witcher with a gambling problem. They're movin' manufacturing to the U.S. which is all well and good but tariffs are still throwin' wrenches into the works. Sounds like a right mess like tryin' to navigate the Pontar during a storm. Maybe I should sign up for some chip huntin' contracts...pays the bills I suppose.
Tariffs: The Real Monsters?
Trump's tariff policies are causin' the usual chaos. Investors are sniffin' around like ghouls at a battlefield lookin' for weakness. Su claims the tariff impact is "a minor blip." Right...and drowners are just "minor inconveniences" when you're takin' a dip. She also said that AMD has "robust" sales in April. Good for them I guess...more coins in the market more contracts for me!
Agility is Key: Dodging the Viper's Kiss
Su claims AMD has learned to be "very agile." Good. You need to be agile when dealing with politicians bureaucrats and the bloody Wild Hunt. But it seems like AMD is watchin' the trends and reactin' appropriately... which is probably the best you can do in this day and age. "People like to invent monsters and monstrosities. Then they seem less monstrous themselves." so let's hope these monsters aren't real!
The Competition: Another Witcher on the Path
Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) is bellyachin' about getting kicked out of China sayin' it would be a "tremendous loss." Tell me about it... try losing a Gwent game to a sheppard. These AI chipmaking CEOs are starting to sound like a bunch of spoiled noblemen at a feast complainin' about the wine. I am not impressed. I'll take my contracts my coin and a bath – in that order. Now if you'll excuse me I've got a date with a bottle of White Gull and a new monster contract in Novigrad.

Sounds like a Witcher's work is never done, even in the world of tech!
