Another App? Seriously?

Alright alright settle down chat. I know what you're thinking: "Asmongold another freakin' food delivery app? We already got like a million of these things!" And you're right you're absolutely right. But this one's a little different see? This ain't your grandma's DoorDash. This is Fantuan and apparently it's the 'Asian' DoorDash. Quote unquote. Now I'm not one to jump on the hype train...but hold on... maybe its worth it... maybe not... who knows. Lets jump into it.

Vancouver's Finest: Congee and Conquest

So this Fantuan is coming all the way from VANCOUVER Canada eh? Like what's next? Poutine delivery app? Oh wait that already exists. Anyways they're focusing on Asian cuisine specifically the authentic stuff. We're talking congee noodles the stuff that makes you go 'Damn this is good.' Unlike the big boys who are probabaly selling orange chicken (ew) Fantuan is trying to bring that REAL DEAL. They go door to door talk to the restaurant owners IN PERSON. This isn't some faceless corporation sending emails. I can respect that. It's like when I'm in WoW going into a Dungeon rather than using the dungeon finder. You know what I mean? Its all about the community

Lost in Translation? No Problem!

Here's the kicker: they actually speak CHINESE to the restaurant owners! Crazy right? Turns out some of these entrepreneurs prefer their first language. Makes sense honestly. You ever try explaining the intricacies of a 12 step DPS rotation to someone who barely speaks English? It's a nightmare. Fantuan gets it. They're building trust by ya know actually communicating. Maybe Blizzard should take notes. "You guys not having fun?" Well maybe if you spoke our language...

From College Kids to Connoisseurs

They're not going after the mainstream market at least not yet. They're targeting first generation immigrants international students the folks who are craving that taste of home. Smart move. It's like when you find that ONE vendor in Orgrimmar that sells the EXACT item you need. You stick with them. Also they are apparently working with influencers and stuff like TikTok. "Social Media! Asmongold stop following the hive mind". Yeah yeah I know. But hey if it gets people good food I ain't complaining. I do it myself sometimes.

HungryPanda: The Only Real Competition?

Apparently the only real competitor is called HungryPanda. What is with these names? Are we in a cartoon? But hey whatever works. They are raising money and expanding. This is a REAL battle for the Asian food delivery throne. And I am here for it. If it means more choices of good food for me then its alright in my book. We all want to be fed thats why we all got the big bellies right?

Co existing or Conquering?

Fantuan is saying they want to "co exist" with the big dogs. But let's be real everyone is trying to get on top. In the end it's all about that sweet sweet market share. Can Fantuan actually carve out a niche for itself? Maybe. They got the authenticity the focus and the direct connection to the community. Will it last forever? Who knows. But for now it is something to consider when ordering food at home.
