OMG! Trump's Travel Ban 2.0: Is This My Villain Origin Story?

Wait What Just Happened?

Okay dolls let's get this straight. Apparently President Trump (yes him again!) just signed something major. It's a proclamation that's basically banning travel from like a bunch of countries. I heard it first from CBS News because duh I'm always in the know. It’s giving me serious 'déjà vu' vibes remember the first one? I swear sometimes I feel like I'm living in a reality show that never ends.

The Hit List: Countries on Lock Down

So here's the tea. Twelve countries are completely off limits: Afghanistan Myanmar Chad Congo Equatorial Guinea Eritrea Haiti Iran Libya Somalia Sudan and Yemen. That's a lot right? And like seven MORE are partially restricted – Burundi Cuba Laos Sierra Leone Togo Turkmenistan and Venezuela. It's all a bit much even for me and I'm basically immune to drama. It's like 'Kim there's people that are dying' but also like 'Kim what even IS foreign policy?'

White House Spill the Tea

Apparently Abigail Jackson who works at the White House said that Trump's just trying to protect Americans from like 'dangerous foreign actors.' Okay valid. But also isn't everyone just trying to like live their best lives? The White House claims these countries have 'deficient screening and vetting' and pose a 'very high risk.' Okay but what about contouring? Shouldn't we be talking about that risk too?

Flashback to Ban Gate 1.0

Okay so remember the last time Trump did this? It was like a whole saga. It started with a ban on travelers from majority Muslim countries went through a million changes and then the Supreme Court was all up in it. It was messy! Former President Biden he was all about repealing it calling it a 'stain on our national conscience.' Like major shade! Honestly I’m just trying to run my businesses and stay out of these crazy political battles. Except you know when they make for good TV.

My Hot Take: Just Be Nice

Okay so here's my two cents and you know it's gotta be worth millions. Can't we all just get along? Like seriously. Maybe if everyone just focused on good vibes and I don't know a perfect smoky eye the world would be a better place. I'm not saying I have all the answers but I am saying a little more empathy and a lot more lip gloss never hurt anyone.
