A Deal in the Making? Hmmm...
Heard the bards are singing about some sort of 'trade deal' brewing between the US and India. Trump they say believes it's 'coming along great'. Prime Minister Modi apparently paid a visit a few weeks back probably trying to avoid any Griffin attacks on Air Force One. Seems everyone wants a piece of the pie or rather a slice of the market. Reminds me of the time I had to negotiate a fee for slaying a Kikimore. Always a dance this bargaining.
Tariffs: A Witcher's Bane an Economist's Delight?
These tariffs... they're like Nekkers in the swamp always causing trouble. Apparently some Treasury fellow Bessent mentioned India's already hefty tariffs make negotiations 'easier'. Easier for whom? Not the poor sods trying to import or export I wager. Economist Raghuram Rajan thinks lower tariffs could attract companies to India. Let's hope they're not the sort that hires drowners for cheap labor.
Vance Joins the Fray: Potions or Policy?
Now Vice President Vance had a pow wow with Modi. Bessent claims 'good progress' was made. What were they discussing I wonder? The proper way to brew a Thunderbolt potion or maybe the intricacies of supply side economics? Perhaps Vance offered to share his sword oil recipe... if he has one.
18 (Minus One) Trading Relationships: So Many Monsters to Slay!
Bessent boasted about 18 'important trading relationships' the US has. Sounds like a Witcher's work doesn't it? Except instead of slaying monsters they're wrangling tariffs and agreements. He mentioned that China is not on that list. Looks like there's a dragon that needs to be slayed. Just another day at the office eh?
India's Market: A Siren's Call?
This Rajan fellow mentioned India's 'large domestic market' which could lure in companies like a Siren’s song to a wrecked ship. Reminds me of when Jaskier tried to 'invest' in a local distillery. Ended badly. But hey maybe this time the investors will fare better than our favorite bard. Perhaps invest in some anti monster repellent.
Final Verdict: Wind's Howling Deal's Brewing
So the wind's howling and a trade deal is brewing. Will it bring prosperity or just more headaches? Only time will tell. As for me I'll stick to hunting monsters. At least they're straightforward. Unlike politicians and their promises. Hmmm. Now where did I put my Gwent cards?
