Waymo's doubling down on robotaxi production in Arizona, leaving Tesla in the dust. Time to kick some silicon!
Waymo's doubling down on robotaxi production in Arizona, leaving Tesla in the dust. Time to kick some silicon!

Damn They Grow Up So Fast!

Alright you primitive screwheads listen up! Waymo owned by those Alphabet nerds and Magna International are teaming up to crank out more robotaxis in Mesa Arizona. Seems like they're tired of walkin'! By 2026 they're gonna double production at their 'Waymo Driver Integration Plant.' Sounds like a real sausage fest but hey if it gets me where I need to go I ain't complainin'.

More Metal Than a Heavy Metal Concert!

This ain't no small operation folks. We're talkin' over 2,000 Jaguar I PACE robotaxis rollin' off the line. Waymo's already got around 1,500 of these bad boys and they're lookin' to pump out tens of thousands a year when they're fully operational. Looks like someone's compensating for something. They're even planning to build those Geely Zeekr RT robotaxis with their "6th generation Waymo Driver" tech later this year. Groovy!

Phoenix Rising... of the Machines!

Waymo's been runnin' their commercial robotaxi service in Phoenix since 2020 and now they're callin' it their domestic manufacturing home. Makes sense. Phoenix is hot kinda like me after a good alien busting session. They're already doin' a quarter of a million paid driverless rides a week in places like Austin San Francisco Los Angeles and Phoenix and they're planning to hit up Atlanta Miami and Washington D.C. in 2026. Time to spread the love!

Future Shock... or Just Future Rides?

Alphabet's CEO Sundar Pichai says they haven't locked down their long term business model yet and there's talk of "future optionality around personal ownership." Sounds like corporate mumbo jumbo to me. But hey if I can own one of these things and pimp it out with a rocket launcher I'm in! A week later Waymo and Toyota announced a preliminary partnership to potentially bring the self driving tech to personally owned vehicles. Come get some!

Musk vs. Waymo: The Ego Trip of the Century!

Now here's where things get interesting. Elon Musk and Tesla are tryin' to muscle in on Waymo's turf with their own robotaxi service in Austin. Musk's been trash talkin' Waymo sayin' their cars cost "way more money" than his. Typical Musk always gotta be the biggest kid on the playground. Waymo uses fancy radar lidar cameras and sonar while Tesla's mostly relyin' on cameras. Guess Waymo wants to make sure they don't run over any pedestrians... or strippers. Shake it baby!

Waymo: King of the (Robotaxi) Road!

But here's the kicker: Waymo's already got robotaxis on the road while Tesla's still messin' around. Waymo's about to more than double its U.S. fleet by the end of 2026. Tesla doesn't even have vehicles that are safe to use without a human ready to take over at any time. Looks like Waymo's the king and Musk's just a pretender to the throne. Now that's what I call a close encounter!

Will these things play Hail to the King, Baby on demand? If not, I'm out.
