Novo Nordisk partners with telehealth giants to make Wegovy more accessible, but will it actually help people or just line the pockets of big pharma and tech companies?
Novo Nordisk partners with telehealth giants to make Wegovy more accessible, but will it actually help people or just line the pockets of big pharma and tech companies?

THE FAT STACKS ARE GETTING BIGGER

Alright alright alright Asmongold here ready to drop some truth bombs on this whole Wegovy situation. Novo Nordisk those sneaky Danes are teaming up with Hims & Hers Ro and Life MD to sling their weight loss drug online. Shares are going up up up! Sounds like someone's about to make a whole lotta 'gains,' and I ain't talkin' about the gym kind. Look I am all for accessibility but will this actually help people long term or is it just another cash grab? That is the real question here people.

COMPOUNDING CONSPIRACIES AND PHARMACEUTICAL POWER PLAYS

So remember those compounding pharmacies that were whipping up cheaper versions of Wegovy? Well turns out big pharma didn't like that one bit. Now they're cracking down trying to shut 'em down faster than a bad guild leader. 'We felt it was really important,' says Dave Moore from Novo Nordisk. Sure Dave I bet you did. Because nothing says 'helping patients' like eliminating competition right? The goal here is to catch everyone "as they come off of compounded medicine". Seems like a very nice and welcoming approach right?

TELEHEALTH TAKEOVER: EASY ACCESS OR EASY MONEY?

Now they're saying this whole telehealth thing is gonna be 'seamless' for patients. Get your Wegovy shipped right to your door easy peasy. But let's be real here folks. Convenience comes at a price. NovoCare is offering it for $499 a month for those without insurance but Hims & Hers is gonna charge you $599 a month. What's the difference? They throw in some '24/7 care' and 'nutritional guidance.' Sounds like a level 90 marketing gimmick to me! And you know what they say: 'They don't think it be like it is but it do.' I am sure many won't be happy about that.

LILLY'S SHADY SIDE EYE

Hims & Hers is also slinging Eli Lilly's weight loss drug Zepbound. But here's the kicker: Lilly is throwing some serious shade saying they have 'no affiliation' with Hims & Hers. Oof! Sounds like someone's not happy about being associated with the 'get swole quick' crowd. Like is this the Wild West of weight loss drugs? I just feel like we should all be careful what we're trusting on the internet nowadays... it's kind of scary.

THE FIGHT FOR CONSUMER RIGHTS (AND DOLLARS)

Hims & Hers CEO Andrew Dudum is out here saying they'll 'always fight on behalf of what consumers we believe have the right to get.' Okay buddy but how much of that fight is about consumer rights and how much is about lining your own pockets? I can only guess... It is a big corporation at the end of the day right? It's like that old saying: 'Fool me once I'm mad. Fool me twice how could you?' So don't get fooled here.

RULES REGULATIONS AND REALITY

So what's the bottom line? Big pharma wants to control the market telehealth companies want to cash in and consumers are left wondering if they're getting a good deal or just getting played. As always do your research be skeptical and don't believe everything you read on the internet – even this article! And remember folks 'Content is king but marketing is queen and runs the household.' So who's really wearing the pants here?
