Copium Overload: Business Confidence Hits Rock Bottom
Alright alright alright! Asmongold here ready to dive into the latest dumpster fire of economic news. So apparently the EU Chamber of Commerce in China just dropped a survey and let me tell you it's spicier than a Mythic raid. Turns out European business optimism in China is at an ALL TIME LOW. We're talking worse than during the pandemic folks. Can you believe it? Even worse than when Blizzard announced Diablo Immortal! A whopping 73% of companies say doing business in the Middle Kingdom has become harder in the last year. What a time to be alive!
The Squeeze is Real: Uncertainty Reigns Supreme
Jens Eskelund the president of the chamber is out here saying companies are 'feeling the squeeze.' No kidding Jens! It's like trying to play a F2P game these days just constant pressure to spend money except here the money is your sanity and profit margins. He also said they haven't seen an 'inflection point' yet. Translation: Things are probably gonna get worse before they get better. Uncertainty is the name of the game and in this game nobody wins but the CCP.
From Boom to Bust: The Pandemic Hangover
Remember when China was supposed to bounce back after the pandemic lockdowns? Yeah about that... Turns out consumer demand is flatter than my hairline after a 24 hour stream. The real estate market is in the toilet and everyone's worried about their jobs. Even the cosmetics industry is taking a hit! Can you imagine? People not buying makeup? That's like saying WoW players are unsubscribing. Unthinkable! Unless you're playing retail then its kind of expected.
Aviation Takes Off While Everyone Else Crashes
Now here's a plot twist: aviation and aerospace are actually doing better in China. I guess someone's gotta build those spy balloons am I right? Everyone else is drowning in red tape and regulatory hurdles. A record 63% of companies say they missed business opportunities because of market access restrictions. It's like trying to get into a gated community when your net worth is 3 dollars!
China's Secret Ingredient: The Lowest Price No Matter the Cost
Here's the kicker folks. Despite all the doom and gloom China still dominates the global supply chain because they offer the lowest prices. They're like the Walmart of manufacturing except instead of cheap TVs they're selling us the components that make everything we use. This is the only way businesses can stay competitive. "Supply chain diversification" they say. More like "supply chain desperation"!
The Future is Murky: Onshoring and Shifting Sands
So what's the solution? Some companies are trying to onshore to China you know like that ever gonna work. Others are setting up alternative supply chains elsewhere but that's a costly and time consuming process. Meanwhile Chinese and EU leaders are planning a summit in Beijing. Good luck with that! When it comes to geopolitics the US is the only one that can cook the EU is still learning how to boil water. This whole situation is more complicated than a Mythic raid strategy guide. But hey at least it gives me something to rant about on stream!
