So like all these fancy fintech companies – Affirm Robinhood PayPal – they're taking a major hit! Apparently when Trump slaps tariffs on *everything* people start freaking out and stop spending money. Can you even imagine?! And the credit card companies? AMEX Capital One Discover? Down down down! Trump's calling these tariffs 'reciprocal.' Honey I barely passed economics in college. All I know is that 10% baseline tariff sounds like 10% less for my shopping budget! Experts are saying the companies most tied to consumer spending are the ones getting wrecked the hardest. Like duh! If people aren't buying stuff these companies don't make money. It's basic! Okay so Affirm the 'buy now pay later' company thinks tariffs might actually *help* them. Apparently if prices go up people will use their service *more*.
