A Witcher's Woes and Wheels of Fortune

Damn tariffs. Always a monster lurking behind trade agreements. Just like a Noonwraith after sunset they come out of nowhere and start snatching coin. Heard about this dust up in the auto world. Seems President Trump or whoever's pulling his strings these days slapped a 25% tariff on cars not made in the good ol' US of A. Now I'm no merchant but I know a raw deal when I see one. And this... this reeks of trouble especially for one 'General Motors'.

GM's Gambit Gone Wrong?

Word on the street or rather the stock market is that GM got hit harder than a Drowner at a bathhouse. Their shares took a nosedive faster than a Griffin spotting prey. Seems they import a fair bit of their metal steeds from Mexico. Ford and Stellantis? They're mostly alright tucked away like Dwarves in their mines. Tesla? Well they're just off in their own electric world seemingly immune. But for GM it's like facing a Leshen without the proper oil – a messy situation.

Mexico: More Than Just Tequila and Trouble

Apparently Mexico is where a lot of the vehicle assembly happens. A whopping 16.2% of U.S. vehicle imports come from there. That's double the trouble of South Korea or Japan. Half of GM's U.S. sales come from American soil but the rest? Canada Mexico and who knows where else. They're reliant on those spots for their Equinox and Blazer – seems like a dangerous game to play when the winds of tariff change are blowin'.

Ford and Stellantis: Counting Their Blessings (and Assembly Lines)

Stellantis and Ford they're sittin' pretty relatively speaking. More of their vehicles are assembled stateside. Ford's got 78% of their U.S. sales coming from within the borders. Stellantis at 57%. Makes you wonder if they had a foresight potion or just better advisors. Either way they're laughin' all the way to the bank while GM's tryin' to renegotiate like a Witcher hagglin' for a contract fee.

Rebalancing Act? More Like Rebalancing the Books!

Some fancy pants analysts are sayin' GM needs to 'rebalance.' Sounds like an understatement. More like a desperate scramble to not end up like a Nekker snack. Seems they're too exposed to the tariffs. Stock's down 13% this year and investors are sweatin' more than a Witcher in a sauna. They didn't even address the tariff issue in their last earnings report! That's like ignoring a Basilisk in your basement – a terrible idea!

Wind's Howling... and the Stock Market's Tumbling

So what's the takeaway? Tariffs are like a Rotfiend infestation – messy costly and hard to get rid of. GM's in a tight spot Ford and Stellantis are playing it smart and Tesla's off in its own world. As for me? I'll stick to Roach. At least she doesn't need imported parts... mostly. Time to find a tavern and drown my sorrows. Maybe Yennefer has some insight. Or maybe she'll just make things more complicated. Either way wish me luck. I have a feeling I will need it.
