A Witcher's Lament: Same Story Different Monster

Blast and damnation! Heard it all before haven't I? Another sunrise another bunch of greedy sods chasing coin instead of common sense. This Forrest bloke sounds like he's got more brains than a drowned dead peasant calling out these Big Oil fellas for ditching renewables. Seems they're too busy lining their pockets with fossil fuel coin to care about the bloody planet. Reminds me of the barons back in Velen always squeezing the last bit of groat from their peasants before the rotfiends come knocking.

The Customer is Always Right Eh?

Forrest says his customers want green energy. Can't say I blame 'em. Even a Witcher appreciates clean air and a hefty discount on the price of lamp oil. He's moving Fortescue away from oil and gas because as he puts it customers want energy without 'any cost' to the damn environment. Smart man. Unlike some of these oil barons who seem to think their customers are happy choking on fumes as long as the price is right. "Wind's howling," they'll say as the smog rolls in. Idiots. It is always a good idea to listen to the customer and that's what I tell Triss and Yennefer when they want me to wear those ridiculous elven outfits.

Fortescue to the Rescue! Or At Least Trying To…

This Fortescue outfit is aiming to stop burning fossil fuels in their Aussie mines by the end of the decade. Good on 'em I say! Maybe they can teach these other companies a thing or two about long term thinking. ExxonMobil and TotalEnergies? Radio silence. Probably too busy counting their gold to comment. Bunch of dolts thinking fossil fuels will still rule the roost in 2050. They are always on the lookout for their coin reminds me of Dandelion always chasing skirts and me chasing monsters.

Cash is King? More Like Cash is a Greedy Ghoul

Some fancy pants at Morningstar Sustainalytics reckons shareholders just want the money now. Dividends buybacks the whole shebang. Bugger the planet as long as they get their coin. Like a bunch of dopplers changing form to match the highest bidder. No loyalty no foresight just a thirst for gold. Just like Dijkstra money is always on his mind. Bloody fools.

Short Term Thinking Long Term Doom

Forrest is right to call them out on this short term thinking. Worrying about quarterly earnings instead of the future? Sounds like the politicians back in Temeria always bickering over power while the Nilfgaardian army marches closer. He said it best: "Guess who's not listening to you? The climate itself." Climate change will make a fool out of all of them. Even me it appears as these new generation swords do not work the same as my good old steel. Progress I guess…

Real Zero by 2050? Sounds Like a Decent Quest

Forrest wants real zero emissions by 2050 not this 'proven fantasy' of net zero. Says they'll save a fortune switching to green energy. Enough to fund a whole new company. Maybe I'll invest. Or maybe I'll just stick to hunting monsters. At least with them you know what you're dealing with. The humans on the other hand… You can't fix stupid as Lambert says. Still if they make the world a better place then it is worth a shot.
