Right then. Word on the street – straight from that Rubio bloke Secretary of State – is that the Yanks are pulling the plug on visas for some Chinese students. 'Aggressively revoke visas,' he says. Sounds like someone's been watching too many bloody Peaky Blinders episodes. This ain't Small Heath Marco and these aren't razor blades we're talking about. Though I suppose in their own way these bits of paper can be just as sharp when wielded right. By order.

Communists in the Classroom?

The excuse? Connections to the Chinese Communist Party and critical fields of study. As if a few college kids are going to bring down the free world. Makes you wonder what they are teaching them over there. Regardless someone's got it in for these fellows. Someone is out to hurt this relationship. When you plan something well there’s no need to rush.

Trump's Long Game

This Rubio stunt fits right in with Trump's little game of 'tough on immigration.' He's been trying to kick folks out left and right since he got his hands on that throne. A man can change anything… but he can’t change his family so they have to do his bidding. It reminds me of my own family sometimes. Trying to build a legacy. And look what it got us.

The Numbers Don't Lie

The newsies are saying that the number of Chinese students in the States is dropping. Down from 370,000 to a measly 277,000. Blame the tension they say. Blame the scrutiny. I say blame the bloody politicians stirring the pot. A war is on the horizon. A war between the US and China. A trade war if not a physical war. Already lost someone close to me as a result of a war. Don't want to lose anyone else.

Trade Wars and Empty Classrooms

This visa business is just another piece in Trump's global trade war. It's all connected see? The markets are going mad supply chains are snarled and the world economy is teetering. And now empty classrooms. 'Whiskey,' I say to anyone who'll listen 'is good proofing water. It tells you who's real and who isn't.' And right now I'm seeing a lot of blokes who aren't real.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse they've stopped scheduling new visa appointments. No fresh blood coming in. Closed for business. They've even started digging through their social media accounts looking for dirt. All these politicians are the same. They want a little bit of everything for themselves. You can change what you do but you can't change what you want. By order of the Peaky Blinders things will be different. Things *will* be fair.
