Hmph as Scorpion I know a thing or two about conquest. Nomura that Japanese investment clan has decided to 'Get Over Here!' and snatch up Macquarie's North American and European public investments. A mere $1.8 billion changes hands. Pathetic! In Outworld we conquer for glory and power not mere assets. But I digress... It seems these mortals are playing their own game of Mortal Kombat albeit with spreadsheets instead of swords.
Strategic Growth? More Like a Strategic FIRE!
They claim 'strategic growth' is the reason for this... this... transaction. I say it's about hoarding power just like Shao Kahn! Increasing assets under management to $770 billion? That's a lot of souls... I mean investments. While Nomura’s empire expands Macquarie retreats to their Australian stronghold. A wise move perhaps? One does not simply challenge Scorpion and expect to win.
Australia? GET OVER HERE!!!
Macquarie in their infinite...wisdom...decided to keep their business in Australia. Smart but even Australia is vulnerable just like the Earth Realm. Macquarie and Nomura have agreed to work together for other opportunities. Perhaps they seek the Elder Gods power? Or perhaps just a better deal. Whatever happens this collaboration is bound to either end in a Fatality or a Friendship and knowing the financial world I'd put my money on Fatality.
Nomura's Secret Weapon: Seed Capital?
Nomura is offering 'seed capital' for alternative funds? So they're planting financial bombs disguised as investments. Clever. If I offered seed capital it would probably hatch into a swarm of hellspawn. These alternative funds must be powerful if they require something as ridiculous as "seed capital". I shall remain skeptical until they reveal it's true power.
Impact? Minimal? Don't Believe Their LIES!
They say the impact on Nomura's financials will be 'minimal.' Hah! Lies! Deception! A true warrior always reveals their hand but these finance mortals... they hide behind jargon and false promises. "Both companies will continue to operate separately and independently until the deal closes." Of course. And I'm just a friendly neighborhood ninja.
The Global Reach: The Final Round Begins!
Nomura boasts a presence in about 30 countries. They spread like the plague! Much like my quest for vengeance! The final round is approaching! Will Nomura’s expansion lead to ultimate victory or will Macquarie rise again like a vengeful spirit? Only time (and the regulatory approvals) will tell. But remember: GET OVER HERE!!!
