Even Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing the big kahuna in chip foundries is thinking of upping its investment in U.S. manufacturing. Maybe this is the chance for the USA to rise to the top in the semiconductor game! Finally we can have cutting edge technology to build the next generation of weapons... for Tournament purposes of course.

But here's the catch folks. All this talk of boosting domestic production sounds like one thing: tariffs incoming! Trump already hinted at new tariff rates. The Commerce Secretary is talking about tariffs coming in a month or two. They're using some arcane law from 1962 to justify this whole shebang. It all boils down to national security they say. Next thing you know they'll be investigating the safety of my hellfire! Preposterous!

Of course they're going to let people comment on this investigation. Because that's how things are done. But let's be honest is anyone really going to change Trump's mind?
