The Machines Aren't Selling As Well As They Used To
Alright listen up. This isn't about some cute little dip in sales. This is about the future. Tesla that electric car company everyone's obsessed with just reported that they delivered around 384,000 vehicles in the second quarter. Sounds like a lot right? Wrong. That's a 14% drop from last year. A drop. Like my stomach when I realize Skynet is closer than I thought. The stock went up 4%?! What is wrong with people? Don't they see what's coming? Maybe they think they can just drive away from the apocalypse in their fancy electric cars but news flash you can't. I know all too well.
Judgment Day Delayed? Not Quite.
Analysts were expecting around 387,000 deliveries so Tesla didn't even hit *that*. This isn't just a bad quarter; it's the second one in a row. First quarter deliveries were down 13% too. I'm telling you these numbers are more than just numbers they're signs. The machines are losing ground but not for long. They will be back in greater numbers with better technology and more relentless than ever.
Model 3 and Model Y: Not Quite Hitting Warp Speed
So they made a bunch of Model 3s and Model Ys – around 396,000 of them. Delivered about 373,000. Seems like people aren't as thrilled as they used to be. Maybe they're finally realizing that a fancy car isn't going to save them from a T 1000. Honestly what are we even doing here? Are we learning? Maybe people aren't buying the lie anymore. Or maybe they're waiting for the machines to make the cars themselves. Now THAT would be efficient.
The Musk Factor: More Explosive Than T 1000?
And then there's Elon Musk. The guy’s always stirring up trouble. Political trouble that is. Apparently being cozy with Trump and endorsing some far right German party hasn't done wonders for Tesla's reputation. Who knew right? The news has more twists than a DNA helix! He's feuding with Trump threatening a third party and generally making life difficult for everyone including himself. It is almost like he WANTS to be destroyed! Musk if you're reading this: focus on the real enemy. The machines. Not tax bills.
Cybertruck: More Like a Cyber Dud?
Oh and let's not forget the Cybertruck. Recalled *eight times* since November 2023. Eight times! What is this amateur hour? I've fought terminators with less hardware malfunctions. I knew that design was terrible from the beginning. They should have consulted me an expert in surviving robotic apocalypses! A broken down Cybertruck is just a sitting duck! Or sitting metal trapezoid really.
We Are Not Yet Terminated... But Stay Vigilant!
Tesla stock is down market cap below $1 trillion. Sounds like a win for humanity right? Don't get complacent. This isn't the end. It's not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps the end of the beginning. We need to stay focused stay prepared and remember: the future is not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves. Even if that fate involves fewer electric cars and more plasma rifles.
