No Fate But What We Make... Or Do We?

Listen up people. Sarah Connor here. I've seen the future remember? Giant robots nuclear fire... but you know what's almost as scary? Billionaires brawling over trade tariffs. Elon Musk the guy who wants to colonize Mars and build electric death traps – I mean cars – is going after Trump's trade advisor Peter Navarro. Apparently Navarro thinks Tesla is just a glorified 'car assembler.' Seriously? I've seen toasters with more advanced technology. Musk naturally isn't taking this lying down. He's calling Navarro a moron dumber than a sack of bricks and dangerously dumb. 'The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves,' right? Except when egos the size of Texas get involved.

Hasta la Vista Baby to Tesla's Stock Price?

Here's the kicker: Tesla's stock is tanking. Down 22% in the last four days. Down 45% this year. That's more than $585 billion wiped out! I've seen terminators do less damage. All this name calling is supposedly because Trump's new tariffs are going to jack up Tesla's production costs. They're slapping taxes on steel aluminum and even those fancy circuit boards from China and Mexico. Musk who apparently donated a small fortune to get Trump back into office (about $290 million—pocket change for a Terminator but real money for most of us) is now regretting his investment? Seems like someone should have seen this coming.

Come with Me If You Want to Trade Freely

Musk in a rare moment of sanity suggested that the US and Europe should aim for a zero tariff situation. A free trade zone! Sounds utopian doesn't it? I mean I'm used to fighting for survival in a post apocalyptic wasteland but this trade war stuff is just as confusing. Tesla has a massive factory in Germany and SpaceX has launched rockets for the European Commission. So naturally he's got a vested interest. This isn't about saving the world from killer robots anymore; it's about saving Tesla's bottom line!

I'll Be Back... With Better Trade Policies?

The White House press secretary basically shrugged this whole thing off saying 'Boys will be boys.' Oh please. This isn't some playground squabble. This is about the future of American manufacturing international trade and whether Tesla will be able to afford to build those self driving cars that are probably going to try to kill us all someday. I hope Musk and everyone else involved remembers that there's no margin for error. We have to fight for the future even if it means dealing with morons who think Tesla is just a 'car assembler.'

DOGE Days are Over?

Adding insult to injury it seems Musk is running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) slashing costs and jobs left and right. Irony? You bet. He's saving the government money while his own company is hemorrhaging billions. And surprise surprise there's been a wave of protests and 'criminal activity' targeting Tesla facilities because of Musk's... 'political rhetoric.' Sounds familiar to me. People don't like being told what to think especially when it's coming from a guy who wants to sell them a self driving coffin.

Judgment Day for Tesla?

So what does all this mean? Are we headed for Judgment Day for Tesla? Will Elon Musk build a time machine to go back and un donate to Trump's campaign? Will Peter Navarro ever admit that Tesla is more than just a 'car assembler'? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure: the fight for the future is never over. And sometimes it's fought on Twitter by billionaires with too much time and too many followers. Stay vigilant people. The machines may not be coming for you yet but the tariffs might be.
