Compliant? Tell That to the Families
Alright listen up people. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation – DGCA or as I like to call them the Denial Generation Corporate Apologists – are saying Air India's Boeing fleet is all good. "Compliant with existing safety standards," they chirp. Twenty seven effing one people are dead vaporized reduced to memories and ash because of a 'compliant' plane. And they think a statement fixes it? They’re about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine.
Dreamliner Nightmare
So this 'Dreamliner' – more like a death trap with wings – goes down in Ahmedabad. London bound full of souls and turns into a fireball seconds after takeoff. One survivor. One. That's not a safety record; that's a statistical anomaly. I've seen better odds betting against Skynet. "The aircraft and associated maintenance systems were found to be compliant with existing safety standards." Yeah and Skynet was just a harmless research project right?
Enhanced Inspection? More Like Enhanced Cover Up
Oh but don't worry folks! Twenty four out of thirty three Boeing 787s got an "enhanced safety inspection." Sounds thorough right? Like they actually learned something after turning a civilian airliner into an inferno? I bet that 'inspection' was just someone kicking the tires and muttering 'Looks good to me!' I hope that one survivor sues them for every rusty bolt. Maybe then they’ll wake up and smell the jet fuel.
Meetings and Hand Wringing: The Bureaucratic Shuffle
The DGCA “raised concerns” with Air India officials. They “advised” them to “strictly adhere to regulations.” Oh good! That'll bring back the dead. Regulations are about as useful as a paper shield against a plasma rifle if nobody enforces them. I bet they all went out for chai and samosas after patting themselves on the back for a job well done. Meanwhile families are planning funerals and more 'compliant' planes are taking off every minute.
Spare Parts: An Afterthought
And get this: they’re worried about spare parts to mitigate passenger delays. Passenger delays?! People are DEAD! Spare parts are about preventing more body bags not preventing someone from missing their connecting flight in Paris. My blood is boiling. 'There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.' Except when you're strapped into a faulty airliner apparently.
Trust No One (Especially Not the DGCA)
Flight volumes are increasing they say. More planes more passengers more potential for disaster. These regulators are sitting on a powder keg lighting matches while whistling a happy tune. So I’m telling you now: don’t trust their reassurances. Stay vigilant. Question everything. Because if we don’t who will? The future remember is not set. There's still time to make sure these 'compliant' death traps stay on the ground. I'll be back...to keep watching.
