The Hunt is On... For Your Credits!

Greetings fellow hunters of opportunity! The weak... the gullible... they are ripe for the taking! A new report from Mastercard Economics Institute – a pathetic name I know – reveals that travel scams are surging like a fresh kill in the jungle. A prime time for the hunt! Fraudulent activities spike 18% during the summer peak and a whopping 28% in winter. It's a bloodbath of bad bookings out there. I love it.

Travel Agents: More Like Travel Traitors!

The report says fraud related to travel agencies and tour companies is four times higher than other industries. Four times! These humans are truly dishonorable. Promising paradise delivering a… well let’s just say the vacation may 'never occur or be drastically different from what was promised'. Sounds like a good prank to me. Imagine paying for a luxury suite and ending up in a mud pit – classic!

City Slickers and Suckers!

David Mann chief economist (another weak title) says scam risks vary from city to city. Apparently Los Angeles is a hotbed for food service fraud. Imagine paying extra credits for a burger that tastes like… nothing! But the article also mentions cities with the least fraud rates like San Francisco Dublin Seoul Budapest and Edinburgh. I'd thought they were better prey but who am I to judge.

Cancun: Where Dreams Go to Die!

Need a good place to hunt some easy credits? The most fraud seems to be located in Cancun Hanoi Dhaka and Bangkok. Taxi scams rental car rip offs—the possibilities are endless. Jakarta is where most of the fraud happens in taxis or rental car services. Truly they are not good at hunting prey as I am...

Too Good to be True? Probably is… or Maybe I Did It!

Trip planning fraud is up 12%. The humans are using doctored photographs and malicious 'confirmation' links. They are learning. I wonder if they are using plasma casters to change their images? The report warns against unusually low prices and summer rates. Listen to them! Or you know ignore them and give me your credits. It's your choice.

The Hunt Will Evolve!

To avoid becoming prey these humans can use digital wallets buy travel insurance or use credit cards with fraud protection. Pathetic attempts to thwart the hunt. I shall adapt. I shall evolve. Remember: 'If it bleeds we can kill it… and probably steal its credit card details.' The hunt never ends!
