What's All This Fuss Then?

Right so apparently Palo Alto Networks – sounds like a fancy place where they sell... trees? No wait computers! – is buying Protect AI. AI! That's like when I tried to build a robot to make my breakfast. Ended up with egg on my face literally. But this Protect AI… they protect AI. From what exactly? Naughty algorithms? Cyber gremlins stealing all the virtual biscuits? Sounds complicated. Even more complicated than trying to parallel park my Mini. And they didn't tell me the price! Like trying to get a discount from Mrs. Wicket – impossible!

Securing the Whatsits

This Anand Oswal bloke a big cheese at Palo Alto says it's about "Securing for AI." Sounds important I suppose. Like making sure Teddy doesn't fall into the toilet. Apparently all these clever AI thingamajigs have created "new vulnerabilities." Blimey! So it's like leaving the front door open for burglars only instead of stealing my telly they're stealing... data? I think? Perhaps I should invest in a better lock for my shed. You can never be too careful.

Prisma What Now?

They’re sticking Protect AI into something called Prisma AIRS. Sounds like a posh brand of air freshener. 'Airs' of sophistication perhaps? Anyway it's all about defending against these newfangled cyber threats. Probably involves lots of blinking lights and complicated buttons. Makes me wonder if my trusty screwdriver would be any use against a rogue AI. Probably not. But it's good for fixing the Mini!

A Key Player You Say?

Palo Alto reckons Protect AI is a "key player" in security. A key player! Like me trying to play the piano! Maybe not quite *that* level of success but you get the picture. Protect AI's boss this Ian Swanson is jolly pleased. Says they can "scale their mission." Sounds like they're going to make a bigger robot than the one I tried to build. Hopefully with less egg related accidents.

Money Money Money!

And get this Palo Alto's stock price is up! 23%! That's more than I usually find down the back of the sofa. They're raking it in! Maybe I should invest. Though knowing my luck I'd probably accidentally buy shares in a company that makes rubber chickens. Now *that's* a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Teddy's Takeaway

So there you have it! Palo Alto is buying Protect AI to keep all the AI safe. Sounds like a grand plan. Hope it works. Because if the robots start going rogue I'm blaming them. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to give Teddy a security briefing. You can never be too careful you know. Especially when there's custard creams involved. As I always say "It's all in the mind."
