Like a Box of Chocolates: You Never Know What You're Gonna Get with Tariffs

Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates and these tariffs are kinda the same way. One minute they're high as a kite the next they're lower than Lieutenant Dan in a puddle. Seems like the U.S. and China decided to give each other a little break cuttin' most of them tariffs way down for 90 days. It's like they're sayin' 'We go together like peas and carrots… for a little while anyway.'

Trump Put's on His Runnin' Shoes!

Now some folks are callin' this the 'Trump put,' sayin' if the market starts to wobble the President's gonna do somethin' to prop it up. It's like Jenny runnin' back to me every time things got tough. This time it was the Stock Market that went zoom zoom zoom like Bubba when he talked about shrimp. Nvidia Nike and Starbucks did great like when I invested in Apple. But it is strange like Dario Perkins said (he sounds like a smart fella) that the President might just be puttin' things back where they started like me comin' home to Greenbow.

One Less Thing to Worry About

They say this deal means China and the U.S. are takin' a break from fightin' over trade at least for now. It's kinda like when I stopped runnin'. I just stopped. They’re gonna cut the high tariffs down low 'cept for that stuff about fentanyl. That's still gonna cost China a bit but not as much as before.

China Thinks They Won and That's All I Have to Say About That

President Trump said China agreed to open up (whatever that means). But the folks in China are sayin' they won this thing. I don't know much about winnin' or losin' but I know when I caught that shrimp boat I felt like I could take on the world. Maybe that's how China feels right now.

Stocks Go Up and the Band Keeps Playing!

The stock market went wild when it heard the news. Up up up it went! It's like that time I played ping pong and kept hittin' the ball harder and faster. Even them fancy European stocks got in on the action. Things are lookin' up and it's makin' folks feel like the economy ain't gonna go belly up anytime soon. God is great!

Freight Shipments Are Goin' Full Speed Ahead!

Now this is where it gets a bit like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Seems like there's gonna be a whole lot more stuff comin' over from China on them big ships. But here's the catch: it might cost more to ship it all. Mr. Muskat who knows a thing or two about shoes says his costs are goin' up so he's gonna have to charge more for his shoes. Like Mama always said you gotta know when to hold 'em know when to fold 'em know when to walk away and know when to run... stuff on a boat I guess.
