Life is Like a Box of Chocolates You Never Know What the Market's Gonna Do
Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. And that's just how these here markets in Japan and Australia are acting. One minute they're up next they're down. Seems like everyone's worried about a recession in America like when Bubba was worried about shrimp. 'Cept instead of shrimp it's the economy and nobody wants a shrimp boat when the tide's gone out. The news people are sayin' that the U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter. That's fancy talk for things ain't lookin' so good kinda like when I lost all that money investing in Apple – but I did get back some later!
Japan: Standing Still is Like Quicksand
Now Japan they're doin' their own thing. The Nikkei that's their stock market thingy went up a little bit like me runnin' from those bullies. But they expect their central bank to stay put like when I had to stay put in my leg braces. Everyone else is moving fast but sometimes you gotta stay still I reckon. Even though Lieutenant Dan would tell them otherwise he was crazy. But he was right about one thing the water was always there!
Australia: Doin' the Down Under Shuffle
Then there's Australia. Their S&P/ASX 200 went down a tad. Guess even kangaroos have a bad hop sometimes. Jenny always said that the world was a crazy place she was right. I wonder if they like shrimp down there? I sure do!
Meta and Microsoft Run Like the Wind!
But hold on America's got some good news too! Seems like Meta (that's like Facebook I think) and Microsoft did real good. Their shares jumped higher than me catchin' that football from President Kennedy. They call 'em the 'Magnificent Seven,' which sounds like a movie I'd like 'cept probably nothin' like my life story. Microsoft's Azure cloud business is booming they said I bet it's nothing like the clouds that brought the rain to stop my Ping Pong matches!
Wall Street's Winning Streak: Like Jenny and Me Maybe?
Over in the States the stock market keeps going up for the seventh day in a row. Must be nice. It's like me and Jenny gettin' along for a little while – you just hope it keeps on goin'. Though I learned that you can't force anything to go where you want it to sometimes you just have to let it flow!
And That's All I Have to Say About That
So that's the news folks. Markets goin' up markets goin' down. Just like life ain't it? Remember what Mama said: 'Stupid is as stupid does.' And maybe just maybe that applies to the stock market too. Now if you'll excuse me I think I'll go runnin'. Or maybe just sit on this bench a while. I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now.
