And Then One Day He Was Pope!

Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. And she was right! I never thought I'd be writin' 'bout a Pope let alone an American one! This Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost from Chicago he went and got himself elected Pope! They're callin' him Pope Leo XIV now. Seems like just yesterday I was playin' ping pong with those fellas in China and now this! It's somethin' that's for sure.

Run Forrest Run... To the Vatican?

They picked him on the second day after four tries. I reckon that's like when I kept tryin' to run with those leg braces. Didn't work so good at first but then... I was runnin' like the wind! They had white smoke comin' out of a chimney like when Bubba Gump Shrimp was cookin' up a storm. Cardinal Mamberti announced it. I wonder if he likes shrimp? I sure do.

This Pope Leo he gave a speech in Italian and Spanish. Didn't say nothin' in English. Guess he figures folks understand him just fine. Now get this they say Pope Leo he tweeted somethin' 'bout the Vice President! Said somethin' 'bout lovin' folks. Mama always said 'Stupid is as stupid does'. I don't know about all that Twitterin' but Mama also said to be nice to people so maybe the Pope is just bein' a good Mama said kinda guy.

Before he was Pope he was advisin' on who gets to be a bishop. Sounds important. He went to a bunch of schools too. Villanova and some others. Seems like he's a smart fella.
