Apparently some 'Caixin/S&P Global' thingy says manufacturing is up like a damn chestburster ready to ruin your afternoon. This PMI thing it jumped up to 50.4. Now I've seen enough alien encounters to know when something's too good to be true. Remember Ash? Yeah thought so.

Contradictory Reports: Who You Gonna Believe?

Here's the kicker: the official Chinese PMI says they're still in the red! Contraction! Downward spiral! It's like two androids arguing over whether we're all gonna die. Thing is the Caixin survey is smaller focuses on exports and happens mid month. The official one? Bigger sample end of month. Sounds like someone's cooking the books. Or maybe they're just really really bad at math. Reminds me of Burke...

Tariff Tango: Dance of Deception?

Apparently these factories are rushing shipments to beat those good ol' American tariffs before the trade truce expires. Front loading they call it. Like loading up a dropship with enough firepower to take down a whole hive. But what happens after August? Will they keep shipping like a horde of xenomorphs or will it slow down? I've got a bad feeling about this.

Escape From New York... I Mean the US Market

So exports to the US are down way down more than 30% in May. Ouch. But clever girls they're pivoting to Southeast Asia and Europe. Smart. Diversify your portfolio they always said. If you can't sell to the guy with the flamethrower sell to the guy with the bug spray right? At least they are trying to adapt and overcome. I'll give 'em that.

Fentanyl Fallout: Hope or Hype?

Word on the street is the US might drop some fentanyl related tariffs. De escalation they're calling it. Sounds like a PR stunt to me. Like when the Company promised us bonuses for bringing back a live alien. Yeah right. Still any port in a storm I suppose. Maybe humanity will get a reprieve. Maybe.
