Well blow me down! You wouldn't believe the hullabaloo at Microsoft's big 5 0 celebration. I was gonna try to sneak in for some cake (free cake is MY kind of cake!) but apparently it turned into a bigger quack up than one of Goofy's inventions. Instead of celebrating some folks were yellin' louder than me when I lose at checkers!
Someone's Makin' a Fuss! (And It Ain't Me This Time!)
This AI engineer Ibtihal Aboussad waddled right up to the stage while some big shot Mustafa Suleyman was yap yap yapping. And she starts squawking "Shame on you! Microsoft's AI is helping the Israeli military!" Talk about ruining a party! Fifty thousand people have died according to her. She even called Microsoft a 'war profiteer'! 'Oh boy oh boy oh boy!' This is getting serious!
Escorted Out? More Like...Duck scorted Out!
Of course they didn't let her stay and sing happy birthday after that. Nope! She was escorted out faster than I can say 'What's the big idea?' But get this she sent an email to all the big cheeses at Microsoft like Satya Nadella. She said she felt morally obligated to speak up because her work was being used for... well you know. She also claimed Microsoft silenced anyone who tried to raise concerns! Sounds like a real mess I tell ya!
Microsoft Says... 'Hold on a Second!'
Microsoft's response? They said they're committed to high standards and want to hear all voices. But and this is a big BUT they don't want any disruptions. So basically 'Quiet down or else!'... Quack! Reminds me of ol' Scrooge when I ask for a raise! And this is all happening while other AI companies are cozying up to the military? This is more tangled than Huey Dewey and Louie's kite string!
Resignation? That's DUCK TERMINATION!
Another engineer Vaniya Agrawal also caused a ruckus during Nadella's speech! She's resigning! She says Microsoft is a 'digital weapons manufacturer'! Blimey! Talk about a dramatic exit! She reckons everyone working there is complicit even if they're not directly involved with the AI stuff. That's heavier than one of Gladstone Gander's lucky horseshoes.
No Azure for Apartheid? What In The World?
Both engineers are pushing for people to sign a petition called 'No Azure for Apartheid.' I don't know much about politics but I know injustice when I see it. And all these AI companies partnering with the military? Well I gotta say I'm startin' to feel a little quacked up about it myself! I just hope things get better or else... oh boy oh boy oh boy!!
