What in the World is Going On?!
Aw gee whiz! It seems like those big shots in China are finally takin' a gander at the U.S.'s offer to pow wow about trade. After all that hullabaloo maybe just maybe they'll stop all this feudin' that's been makin' the markets do the jitterbug and scaring folks silly! I tell ya it's enough to make a duck pull out all his feathers!
Uncle Sam's Makin' Overtures?!
Yep those Yanks have been chirping in China's ear 'multiple times' hopin' they’ll sit down and hash things out about those pesky tariffs! But hold on to your hats folks because China's makin' demands! They want those tariffs gone! Gone I tell ya! If not well they’re gonna think Uncle Sam ain't playin' fair and things could get uglier than me after a mud fight with Gladstone Gander!
No Sincerity No Deal!
China's sayin' if the U.S. wants to chat they gotta show they're serious! That means fixin' their 'wrong practices' and scrapping those tariffs! Otherwise it's like tryin' to teach Peg Leg Pete to dance... utterly pointless! And you know what I always say 'I'm too busy to be aggravated!'
Tariffs Tariffs Everywhere!
That Donald Trump slapped a whole lotta tariffs on Chinese goods like 145%! And China bless their hearts whacked back with some of their own about 125%! It's like a never ending game of tag and everyone's gettin' tagged...especially my wallet! This reminds me of the time I tried to build a house: disaster!
Yuan Up Hang Seng Jumpin'!
Well the Chinese offshore yuan perked up a bit like a duck getting a worm after the news! And the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong did a little jig too. Looks like maybe just maybe there's a glimmer of hope in this whole shebang! But don't count your chickens before they hatch! Or in my case don't count your nephews before they cause trouble!
Who's Gonna Blink First?
Seems both sides are playin' a game of chicken! Each one wants the other to give in first! Some smarty pants economist even said they gotta take everything with a 'pinch of salt' and that maybe some secret talks are already happenin'! Maybe those tariffs will drop to only 40% or 50%! That's still a lot of clams! I sure hope they figure things out soon before I go completely quackers! Aw Phooey!
