Eat My Shorts Economy!

Ay caramba! Looks like Sideshow Trump is at it again folks. This time he's got his sights set on Jerome Powell the big cheese at the Federal Reserve. According to Trump's Truth Social feed – which let's be honest is probably less truthful than a Krusty Burger commercial – Powell is and I quote 'TOO LATE AND WRONG!' Can you believe it? He's blaming the guy for everything short of Bart Simpson's blackboard pranks!

The Euro Trip (And Why Ours is Lame)

Apparently the ECB – that's the European Central Bank for you dummies – is cutting interest rates like Milhouse cuts his fingernails: often and without much skill. Trump thinks Powell should be doing the same but Powell's all like 'I didn't do it!' Seriously though he gave some boring speech about tariffs and how they make things tricky. Sounds like someone needs a dose of El Barto!

Tariffs: Making America Rich (Like Mr. Burns)

Trump claims America's getting 'RICH ON TARIFFS!' Probably rich enough to buy a new toupee that doesn't look like a dead cat. But Powell is worried about like inflation and growth. What a nerd! He should be out TP ing Principal Skinner's house instead of worrying about that stuff.

You're Fired! (Or Are You?)

The real kicker? Trump wants Powell fired! Gone! Terminated! As if getting rid of a government official is as easy as swapping out a Krusty the Clown doll. Apparently this ain't the first time Trump's griped about Powell. He's been on his case since the 'Liberation Day' tariff announcement. Sounds like someone needs a time out in the corner... and maybe a new hobby.

Powell's Power Play

But here's the donut: Powell's not budging. He says Trump can't fire him! 'Not permitted under the law,' he sniffs. Good for him standing up to the bully. Kinda like when Lisa tries to save the environment but with less singing and more boring economics jargon. His term isn't up until 2026 anyway. So Trump's stuck with him... for now. Doh!

Will Springfield's Economy Survive?

So what does this all mean for Springfield? Probably nothing good. More expensive Squishees? A nuclear plant meltdown caused by budget cuts? Who knows! But one thing's for sure: this whole situation is about as messed up as Bart writing the school's honor code! Cowabunga dudes!
