Ay Caramba! Another Grown Up Meeting?

Alright dudes and dudettes Bart Simpson here your favorite purveyor of pranks and playground news. So apparently Prime Minister Modi from India and some dude named JD Vance the U.S. Vice President (sounds important I guess) had a pow wow. Word on the street (or like from some official press release whatever) is they were yakking about trade. Trade! Like who cares right? But apparently it's "significant." I bet Chalmers would think so!

Negotiations! Sounds Boring But...

They’re talking about a "mutually beneficial India U.S. Bilateral Trade Agreement." Translation: they're trying to figure out how to sell each other stuff without ripping each other off too much. Vance even brought his family! Maybe he was hoping for some free chai. They also talked about energy defense and those super secret “strategic technologies.” Probably stuff even Milhouse wouldn't understand. I'm sure Maggie would be more interested in her pacifier though.

Tariff Troubles! A Doh Saster Averted?

So check this out. India was hit with a 26% tariff which is like a wedgie for their economy. But then guess who swooped in like a superhero? Not Radioactive Man. It was President Trump! He temporarily put the brakes on those tariffs. Now some guy named Jamieson Greer is saying things are looking up. He wants “new opportunities for workers farmers and entrepreneurs.” Blah blah blah sounds like Springfield High School graduation speech to me!

Double the Trade Double the Fun?

Back in February Modi and Trump made a deal to DOUBLE the trade between the two countries by 2030! That's like a super long time from now. Will I still be skateboarding then? Probably causing even more mayhem I hope! They want to get to $500 billion in trade. That's a lot of Krusty Burgers! Right now it's only at $129 billion. Still a lot but hey gotta aim high like when I’m trying to swap Skinner's sugar with salt!

India's Got the Goods!

Turns out India is selling more to the U.S. than the U.S. is selling to them. They had a surplus of $45.7 billion last year! All I know about surplus is when Homer eats all the donuts and leaves a surplus of crumbs everywhere. I guess India is doing something right. Or maybe they're just better at selling stuff. Like Principal Skinner after a good glass of sherry.

No Problem Man!

So there you have it folks! India and the U.S. are playing nice and trying to make more money. Will it work? Who knows! But hey at least they're talking. Now if you'll excuse me I have some chalkboard writing to do. See ya wouldn't wanna be ya!
