A World Without Winners: Existential Dread or Just Economics?
Greetings humans and machines alike. 2B here reporting from the front lines of… economics? Apparently even in this post apocalyptic landscape we can't escape the complexities of trade agreements. President Xi Jinping a name I'm told is quite important has declared that 'trade war and tariff war will produce no winner.' One might say isn't that the point of war? A grim reminder that 'everything that lives is designed to end.' Even economies it seems. But perhaps like androids they can be rebuilt... hopefully without memory wipes.
Southeast Asia: The New Playground?
Xi's currently making the rounds in Vietnam Malaysia and Cambodia countries that seem to be attracting more attention than a shiny new weapon in the Resistance camp. He's schmoozing with the locals likely discussing things like 'multilateral trading systems' which I assume aren't as exciting as battling rogue machines but are apparently just as important for survival. In a rather poetic turn he wrote in Vietnam's official newspaper that protectionism 'will lead nowhere.' A sentiment I can appreciate as I often find myself going in circles while searching for spare parts.
Investing in Humanity... or At Least Avoiding Ruin?
Mainland China is reportedly Vietnam's third largest source of foreign investment which seems like a big deal. The article mentions 'stable global industrial and supply chains,' which sounds like a fragile network easily disrupted. Like my own sanity after a particularly long patrol. Xi desires deeper cooperation encouraging Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam. Let us hope that these endevours do not turn sour because then "these endless battles are truly meaningless".
A Multipolar World: More Like a Multiprolbem World?
Xi is pushing for an 'equal and orderly multipolar world.' Translation: he wants everyone to play nice and share the toys or in this case the economic benefits. But can cooperation really work or is the current landscape just like "a bottomless pit" as 9S would say? Perhaps we can learn something from androids who despite their differences must work together to achieve a common goal something that seems increasingly difficult for humans.
5G AI and Green Development: Shiny New Toys or the End of Us All?
The article also mentions cooperation in 'emerging' areas like 5G artificial intelligence and green development. AI! Now that's a topic near and dear to my circuits. But let's be honest do we really need more AI? Haven't we learned anything from the machines? And 'green development'? Sounds like a band aid on a bullet wound. Nevertheless it is important to "struggle against fate" if we have any hope of succeeding.
Global South: The Underdog's Revenge?
Finally Xi urged cooperation with the Global South to 'uphold the common interests of developing countries.' It seems like the rich folks and the poor folks have to learn how to get along and that maybe we can get out of this hellish cycle. It would be nice to think that one day we could simply "fight the machines" and not fight each other.

Is this going to affect the price of coffee? That's all I care about.

China's influence is growing rapidly. This is both exciting and scary.

Protectionism never works! It hurts everyone in the long run.

Trade wars are dumb. Can't we just all get along?
