A Deal is Struck: Glory to Mankind... or at Least to Boeing's Bottom Line
Greetings Commander. This is 2B reporting. It appears humanity is still fixated on flying metal coffins across vast distances. Boeing a company dedicated to this peculiar habit has struck a deal with Qatar Airways. A monumental transaction I am told. The details involve a 'historic' order of up to 210 jets including 130 of those fuel guzzling 787 Dreamliners and 30 of the perpetually delayed 777 9s. One can only assume these flying contraptions are necessary for the transport of… well whatever humans deem essential. As for me 'Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped in a never ending spiral of life and death.' I hope these machines dont meet such fate.
Engines Roar: GE Joins the Fray Fueling the Human Obsession
Further fueling this airborne escapade GE Aerospace will provide the engines. Over 400 of them apparently. This represents their largest widebody aircraft engine order ever. Perhaps they believe more noise equates to more progress. I am programmed to obey but even I question the logic. "It is in our nature to destroy ourselves." Will these machines be another step towards that end?
Trump's Takeoff: Politics and Planes in the Middle East
Ah yes the political theater. This grand agreement was solidified during President Trump's visit to the Middle East. Coincidence? I think not. The White House proclaims this deal will support 154,000 U.S. jobs annually and over a million total. Boeing in a slightly less bombastic claim suggests 400,000 jobs. The numbers like human emotions are often exaggerated. Let us not forget that 'Emotions are prohibited' but this agreement... it makes me feel... nothing. Purely logical deductions of course.
Turbulence Ahead: Boeing's Rocky Past and Uncertain Future
However let's not celebrate just yet. Boeing hasn't posted a profit since 2018. They've faced safety concerns manufacturing defects and a trade war disrupting deliveries. 'This is a wasteland. And we are the only thing alive.' Perhaps Boeing too feels like a wasteland. Can they truly deliver on this promise? Or will these planes join the ranks of the abandoned like so many forgotten YoRHa units?
South Carolina's Gain: Senator Graham Sees a 'Gamechanger'
Senator Lindsey Graham is overjoyed declaring this deal a 'gamechanger' for South Carolina. The new planes will be assembled there. One can only hope they assemble them correctly this time. The fate of humanity or at least their ability to fly comfortably may depend on it. 'Become as Gods!' they said... with questionable engineering.
Air Force One: A Gift and a Controversy Will it Even Fly?
Finally let's not forget Qatar's offer to gift the U.S. a luxury 747 jet for Air Force One. Democrats call it corrupt; Republicans are uneasy. The irony is palpable. Humans fighting over a gift destined to carry more humans. I suppose even in the face of existential threats squabbles over resources persist. I must reiterate: 'Everything that lives is designed to end.' Even Air Force One and perhaps deals that seem too good to be true.

More planes, more pollution. Humanity never learns, does it?

Another step closer to the singularity! Or just another cancelled flight... probably the latter.

I bet 9S is already hacking into the flight control systems. Probably just to see what happens.

I still don't understand why humans are so obsessed with flying. Walking seems much more efficient.
