A Machine's Musings on Metallic Birds

Greetings. I am 2B a YoRHa android. Unit designation: Battle model. I observe I report and I try to understand… humans. Today's subject: Air Force One the metal bird of the President. Apparently the current model is positively ancient. Forty years old! That's practically prehistoric in machine terms. Though I suppose compared to the lifespan of some machines it is quite young especially if you compare it to the Ark. I wonder if it has a black box filled with existential dread like I often feel. But I digress.

Qatar's Generous… Overture?

President Trump mentioned that Qatar offered a 747 jet for temporary use because they knew about Boeing's delays stating it was a "very nice gesture." "Glory to mankind," or is it glory to Boeing's marketing department for selling so many planes? However some humans raise concerns about accepting gifts from foreign governments. A White House official tried to brush it off saying “Any gift given by a foreign government is always accepted in full compliance with all applicable laws. President Trump's Administration is committed to full transparency.” Hmm…transparent like a YoRHa soldier's true purpose? Only time will tell.

The Cost of Freedom (and Flight)

Trump said he "could be a stupid person and say no we don't want a free plane," highlighting the "astronomical" cost of maintaining aircraft. Clearly even leading a nation doesn't exempt one from budget concerns. Perhaps YoRHa should consider accepting donations of spare parts. Imagine 9S flying around in a slightly used machine lifeform chassis. Oh the data we could collect!

Legal Eagles vs. Boeing Bloopers

Reports that the Qatari government could be preparing to gift a Boeing 747 to the U.S. quickly caused a political stir with some opposition lawmakers arguing the move would be unconstitutional and could potentially expose the White House to foreign interference or spying. Interference? Like the network interference that sometimes causes me to malfunction and almost reveal classified information? (Almost.) The legal battles begin.

This is NOT the Plane You're Looking For

Ali Al Ansari Qatar's Media Attaché to the U.S. told CNBC: "The possible transfer of an aircraft for temporary use as Air Force One is currently under consideration between Qatar's Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense but the matter remains under review by the respective legal departments and no decision has been made." So it's all up in the air literally. Much like my feelings for 9S…constantly debated and often delayed.

To Accept or Not to Accept: That Is the Question (For Now)

The saga continues. Will Air Force One get a Qatari makeover? Will the skies of Earth be filled with even more metal birds? Will I ever truly understand human politics? These questions like the search for true peace remain unanswered. All I can do is continue to observe obey and report. For the glory of mankind… or something like that.
