President Trump and his crew are doing the tariff two step and frankly it's got me more tangled than when I accidentally webbed up J. Jonah Jameson's toupee! First they announced some exemptions on electronic goods like phones and computers. Score one for Apple right? Not so fast True Believers! It looks like those exemptions might be as temporary as my clean laundry.

Fake News or Tariff Truth? You Decide!

Trump's saying there was no "exception" announced and that these products are just moving to a different "Tariff 'bucket,'". Sounds like something Doctor Octopus would say when he's trying to weasel out of a bank robbery! He also blames the “Fake News” but honestly it’s hard to keep track of who's telling the truth when the rules are changing faster than I can change into my Spidey suit! It seems the WHOLE ELECTRONICS SUPPLY CHAIN is under investigation now!

Howard Lutnick the Tariff Oracle?

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is saying these exemptions are just a temporary reprieve before more tariffs hit the electronic sector in a month or two. He is claiming that they will become things “that are national security that we need to be made in America.” Well that would be great but what about the cost of making things in America?

Poor tech companies! One minute they're popping champagne because their iPhones are safe (for now) the next they're wondering if they should start manufacturing in Wakanda! All these changes are leading to more uncertainty about Trump's tariff policy which has changed more times than I've changed my web shooters!

Of course the Democrats are having a field day. Senator Cory Booker thinks Trump has a “crisis in credibility”. Senator Elizabeth Warren thinks there is “chaos” and that investors will not invest in the United States when Donald Trump is playing red light green light with tariffs.” I swear sometimes I think politicians are more dramatic than Mysterio's special effects!
